Dog afraid of walks?

Advice greatly appreciated on my lovely little dog! ;
Teo, Chihuahua, 2years old, male neautered, slightly, only slightly overweight. He shows fear when I get ready to go out, ie putting keys in pocket, coat on etc. He slinks off to hide from me so he doesn't have to go out. On pavement walking and urban areas he does not appear to enjoy his walks, but once in open grassy areas he has the look of joy on his face and runs like the wind! Recently had to have veterinary treatment for colitis type problem and am now wondering if this is down to stress as last bout occurred after a walk. He also barks at people and animals on the tv and anyone who walks past the house or comes to the door. This is getting particularly tiring as it happens frequently at night disturbing our sleep. Am trying Gelsemium 30c but am wondering if anyone has better ideas?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I also forgot to add that I have just ordered a book on telington Touch to see if this will also help with his fears.

You can give Bach flower essence Beech drops 3 to 4 drops twice daily for a month and see if that changes your dog's behaviour.
