Fibromyalgia and allergies combined with tongue pain

Recently the fibromyalgia has gotten worse, I even more tired than is normal for me and I've developed allergies to about everything. My thumb nails have pits that have begun to grow up and out and will soon be unnoticeable as pitted due to the length of this. Two days ago, I noticed my tongue was really sore and this morning when I looked in the mirror I noticed it was cracked with a white surface. Primarily there is one crack down the center, but there are others going the same direction with tributaries. There are also a few small very sore white bumps. I take currently neurontin, vytorin and hydrochlorothiazide. I'm 42 yr old female and yes I smoke but I do not drink. I'm 5'3' and I weight 275lbs. Also, I've not had a menstrual cycle in 3 months and experience hot flashes pretty regularly now.

Due to the depression with the fibro worsening I recently as in last week, ried to take a new antidepressant, cymbalta but it caused severe tremors and I discontinued the drug. Plz help, all of this is making me nuts. I can't hardly eat from the sore tongue and the allergies and I'm tired of feeling so low energy and depressed. Thanks. Donna

per request this is the detail that has been requested.

Donna Kelly
42 years old, 275 lbs, 5'3',
married but not with him (he has huntingtons an lives in a nursing home now).

I recently as of February of last year moved to southern california in the US. Until then I lived in Pennsylvania outside of Philly. The climate here is dry and generally warm or even hot in the summer.

I am not diabetic, thought my blood tests show the insulin levels are borderline high. I do not know what my blood pressure is at this point. Up until I moved to california it was normal at 110/73 usually. About 5 months ago it began to rise, shortly after that the tiredness set in. The last time it was checked it was 160/90. I've not had it checked since starting on the blood pressure meds. (meds that I only take every other day, not every day as the doctor did not also prescribe potassium with it).

Generally despite the fibromyalgia problems, I'm a very active person. Since this overwhelming tiredness started, I've become housebound. I am barely able to get through a short shopping trips in the store and often use their electric carts to do that.

I've been alternating between craving chocolate and craving salty foods (I am not a junk food person in general and do not like salty foods)

My family has a history of heart problems, cancers, diabetis, high cholesterol and obesity. My mother had gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago which has been successful.

I am an online graduate student and do not currently work. Up until 2 weeks ago I was the sole caretaker for my profoundly disabled husband.

I do smoke and lately it seems like the cigarettes have tasted really nastier than usual and are making my tongue more sore. I have been drinking more soda's here in california than I used to before. Primarily the drink I used to drink is so high in sodium that I am concerned about that now. I used to drink Propel waters. I've taken to drinking white grape juice these last two days as that seems to at least soothe my tongue somewhat.

I had a chicken pot pie day before yesterday that felt like I was trying to swallow glass, I didn't finish it.

Most days I'm rarely hungry, but I am always in the mornings. I eat every morning. I do drink coffee, as well as having a starbucks every morning except sundays. I've also had heart burn pretty off and on the last week or so. Any wheat products or grains of any kind will cause heart burn and it seems like there's no real way to avoid them 100% of the time. I'm actually allergic to barley and if I happen to get any, that causes a stool that looks like snot. I then have to take something to stop the reaction once I get it or it will continue unabated. That otc antidirrheal med does not work when that particular food gets eaten.

I tend to prefer the summer time as the fibro reacts well to water and I can swim then. Strangely I prefer to take luke warm showers, hot water that most people consider just right feels boiling hot to me. Cold weather makes the pain flare up and I get grouchy as a result. The cold winters in philly were getting to be too much which is why I moved here to california.

I am very aware that I'm extremely allergic to rag weed, dust (not dust mites) and all of the grasses which are all very heavy here.
One thing I noted in the drive here, I got literally nauseous sick driving through kentucky, northern texas and new mexico.

Certain foods cause cramping an diarrhea, such as cheeses, milk products, and any heavy grains such as barley, wheat and spelt. I am seriously allergic to sulfa's. I have a constant low grade rash due to all the different types of sulfates in soap products and I suspect is why cheeses and wines are not in my list of foods I can eat. Wine will give me a migraine headache within 10 minutes of drinking it. I do occassionally still get migraines but tend to wake up with them more often than not.

Back in the mid 1990's I used to exercise very regularly, ate a non-fat, vegan diet until I began to react to the soybeans in a pretty negative way. Despite the healthy diet, my cholesteral was always over 300, I had no good cholesterol and I gained weight rather than lost it.

When the fibromyalgia struck in february of 1998, it was of sudden onset global muscle pain. Even the bottoms of my feet will get tender if I am on them much. I exercise still, but much more moderately than before and do now eat meats.

My periods were very regular, but heavy with clots and very painful with bloating, pain and tender back and breasts. I have facial hair that no matter how many times I pluck grows back. I have shadows under my eyes, breasts and armpits. (discolored skin). About one year ago my cycle became irregular with one lasting up to 3 months before it stopped, and going as long as 6 months in between. I have hot flashes and mood swings that make me grouch at people around me fairly easily during times when my cycle should have started. I also have acne that never clears up on my face.
I am constantly getting boils on my inner thighs even up into female portions now and then. I also get an infected pore in my mid-back every year and a half. It is not a sebaceious cyst (spelling) it is an infection that has to be drained as it pushes on my spine.

As I mentioned about 2 or 3 months ago I got really tired, more than usual. I am getting out of breath just walking out to my car which is about 10 yards away. My nails I've noticed started to get a pit in the nail bed going across the finger. I also have ridges as well.
Two days ago my tongue got really sore, and I have little white bumps that are very sore. My tongue is white pasty feeling and has one very long crack down the middle with a few shorter ones on the side and little tributaries comes away from those.

My left eye is forever watering and my sinus's are always plugged up. I use afrin pretty frequency in order to breath and prevent pneumonia or bronchitis. I don't know how much more you need. Hope this helps. Oh blood tests show that my T4 levels are slightly low, but the TSH is normal. Everything else is normal in the blood test.

When I use my hands to gesture it tends to be to illustrate what I am saying, that is a combination of habit and action.

I love chocolate, am addicted to it really, coffee is also an addiction of sorts. I love vegetables of just about every type except beets and egg plant. I do not like liver, or very many types of fish. I'll eat salmon but only when the mood hits and I do love crab but the cost is prohibitive. I prefer to eat whole grain foods but have not been able to in quite some time now. Even my favorite breakfast food is out since grape nuts makes me violently ill.

My mind has been distracted and it is difficult to concentrate most of the time. I am falling asleep sitting in my chair reading homework assignments for class. I hate public speaking and will avoid crowds whenever I can and prefer the quiet of the beach or the mountains. I love to play my piano, though my hands have been shaking some lately and I've been having trouble hitting the keys correctly. A quiet evening in front of the TV set with my cat in my lap is preferable to me over running out to party.

I'm unsure if this is better or worse seasonally as this started this fall and has continued through winter as we are heading into spring now. Allergies are worse in the winter months due to rain stirring up the dust here, and the addition of moldy leaves on the ground from the trees.

I hope I covered everything you asked for sir. A few of them I didn't understand what you were refering to, such as number 20, 22 and 23. I need a reference to understand what specifically you are asking. Thank you Donna
