Nesha-India: Can baking sode be bad for health?

Nesha-India, As you suggested for weight loss me and my husband are taking one spoonful baking soda in normal temp water with 2 spoonful lemon juice every morning and though we hav enot lost any weight but it feels great as it keeps are stomuch clean. Recently somebody at work mentioned that Indian food at lunch in restaurant feel heavy as it uses sodium bicarb and it got me worried as we consume full one tea spoon everyday.
Do you think we should continue taking it? Have you ever heard about any bad effect? You are so knowledgeble and any advice from you will be great.
