Extrememely Bitter Taste in Mouth

2 weeks ago I ate a banana for breakfast. As I made my last swallow, I discovered an extremely bitter taste in my mouth that 6 days later would not be washed off my tongue with toothpaste, soap, gargling with listerine of salt water.

There was a brown sticky substance on the banana skin which I thought might have been a spot of dried sap, but my the fingers on my left hand which pealed the banana also taste bitter - this also would not wash off until about 6 days later.

Now when I eat, all my food tastes bitter, for a while my lips were uncomfortable and when I do not drink tons of water, I get lots of gas and bloating in the stomach.

The doctor I visited thinks it's GERD. but I've had GERD for about 20 years which I controll with a very strict diet and eating practices. GERD leaves a sour after taste and makes you feel like you're having a heart attack!

Is this some kind of poison, a new kind of GERD or something else????

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear Beige:
I don't know if your case is a new kind of GERD or not, but may be a annoyed reaction caused by the product conservants o waxes that protect certain fruits.
If you have not had another symptoms of GERD, may be only this banana.
About your bitter taste in mouth, Repertory indicates NUX VOMICA to treta it.
If you like, you can take NUX VOMICA 6DH, ten drops in a bottle with half a liter. Shake well and dip the contains along the day. Usually in 24-48 hours you'll be better.
Good luck

Andres,

Thanks for the advice, but what is NUX VOMICA and what does it contain?

For anyone who's interested out there, I went to my Homeopath and it turns out that it was PESTICIDE mixed with MERCURY. My liver was being affected the most and a slightly different dossage of NUX VOMICA was prescribed.

Thanx

Dear Beige:
I'm glad you have found the solution (in an homeopath hands).
The dossage and the potency depends on the prescriber's experience, but the remedy acts in all cases (there is any cases as exception).
NUX VOMICA contains (as Ignatia) strichnine and is very useful to fight and correct digestive disorders and intoxication by certain foods.
Very best regards
Andrés
