Chronic acne with raised glands
Hi, I'd really appreciate some help with my skin problems. Its really getting me down and I feel like I have tried everything under the sun.I have had chronic acne since a teenager. Previously treatment with Diannette (the pill) and anitbiotics has worked. This time when the acne reoccurred I was taken off diannette (which stopped my periods for 6 months and made me feel awful - so I went back on it). I also am taking antibiotics.
At the moment I have acne over both of my cheeks. I have noticed that it seems to get worse if the glands round my neck/ears are slightly raised and tender so I am taking all the vitamins under the sun and echinnacea to boost my immune system. I feel quite exhausted when my glands are slightly up (can happen on a weekly basis). I have had these raised glands before.
I know it can be helpful to know more about me:
My skin got lots worse a few months ago when I had 3 difficult bereavments within a month. In general I am relatively happy but a bit anxious. I am training to be a clinical psychologist which can be stressful.
I have just got together and moved in with my boyfriend which has been wonderful but quite a rollercoaster of emotions. I hate having bad skin around him so constantly wear make-up (which I know is not good).
Last time my skin was completely clear was when I travelled in south east asia for 2 months. It gradually got worse after my return and alot worse when I went to the doctor and was taken off diannette.
I really hope someone can help. Thanks loads.
