dogs itching 5 MONTHS-nothing working-help

Uggg. I don't know what to do. In 5 months, I've been to 1 sort of holistic vet, a TRUE holistic vet, 2 homeopaths online tried to help- nothing is working! Our dogs have NEVER had any health issues before. Raw fed since 8 wks, no vax since puppy, no wormers or flea chemicals. Cat is fine. kids and I are 'itchy' alot but it is REALLY dry in here? Kids have dry scalps and I had nasty dandruff- used hydrogen peroxide, borax and apple cider vinegar. dh seems fine.

Started end of September 2005 (i suspect a bad batch of meat and not enough supplements at the time) made them susceptible.

King Shepherd- intact male (born may 2001) starts to lose hair on ears. starts scratching ears, elbows, belly, chewing hind feet. (i try to help, my right hand breaks out all across the back-tea tree oil and dmso fixed that)

then intact female (born feb 2003) starts scratching 2-3 wks later same areas.

male had crusties on his head from scratching. gave him mezereum 30c for 3 days. no change. tried sulphur 30 c, possibly some relief.

suspected mange- (heard of other dogs in area with same complaints-although my sisters dogs were not in contact with mine, they had it too and they did the drugs and it went away) our so called 'homeopathic' vet did scrapings in December-inconclusive- gave me Revolution, said he never has much luck with homeopathy and this. I threw it out- did not use. bathed them in borax/1% peroxide solution. helped immensely. also restricted them to one floor and swept borax into cracks on the floors etc. at night incase of mites- for weeks. hair grew back on males ears, still scratching elbows til they bleed-seem to be blackish/gritty all underneath. (elbows also have calouses now as carpets were removed 10 months ago- now on plywood floor)

in meantime slowly increased supplements in diet. 3 day fast, then 1 day per week.

feed organic chicken and carcases. some organic beef, but mostly non organic red meat/bones/offal.

supplements include:

vit c (sodium ascorbate)
vitamin e
cod liver
sometimes primrose oil
flax oil
salmon oil
raw garlic
apple cider vinegar
human multi vitamin
alternate with human Bcomplex
extra zinc
colloidal silver
home raised eggs
spirulina
kelp
latest addition (clarkia - black walnut hull/wormwood/cloves for parasite cleanse)
fresh ground egg shells

Their coats look amazing and the cronic eye discharge is clearing up ;-)

Tried rhus tox 1M a couple weeks ago- no change in scratching but I think it was too high dose. Male seems to be grumpier now, female more withdrawn and clingy.

Spraying male with yellow dock infusion as an experiment the last 2 nights- also giving sulphur 30c. something is helping, not scratching as much.

The last 2-3 weeks, I have noticed they are scratching face now too and chewing front legs - also after they eat, which means maybe allergy- will need to do elimination diet to see what the culprit is. kelp? maybe flax?

Holistic vet gave us bloodroot tincture and andrographs. seemed to help the first week, then nothing. she said this breed has spleen and kidney weakness. she is 2 hrs away. our male is 120 lbs and is VERY growly at Vets office so all vets have looked at him from a distance, despite muzzle. He's actually all talk but sounds convincing. ayhow, she apparently did 'talk' to him ;-) spoke with her on the phone the other day in frustation, she suggested rhus tox and maybe some rosemary oil topically, didn't know what else to try.

It is difficult to pinpoint when itching is worse. have been studying that for the last 3 days.... nothing is jumping out.

it is really cold here right now -34 with windchill last night- they did lay in the sun outside for a bit today, but mostly just slept alot inside. he prefers the soft frniture, seems stiff lately, hates me trying to work on him- can't blame him, been a long 5 months. she sleeps under the desk on her back or downstairs in the garage.

Can anyone offer some thoughts on how I can proceed. This is VERY VERY frustrating!!!! anything would be appreciated at this point.

Dr. Mahfooz- is this homeopathic form or herbal form? Is there somewhere online I can purchase this?

I have searched online, is this the Gotu Kola Root? I don't see anything for:

HYDROCOTYLE ASIATICA-Q
only for

HYDROCOTYLE ASIATICA-L

I don't know the difference...guidance please?

thank you for responding

Dr. Mahfooz:

I was very interested to see that Hydrocotyle asiatica has a Scientific Name of: Gotu Kola
and Other Names: Bramhi, Centella asiatica, Indian Pennywort, Marsh Penny

However I am still confused!

I have done an online search. I have many of Reckeweg's products that we use for the family. It seems Reckeweg has a combo homeopathic remedy R65 for psorias which has hydrocotyle asiatica as one of the ingredients in it. Is this what you are referring to?

There was no results for a company called Schewbe... although I did find a company called Schwabe India for homeopathics. However, I still haven't found a place to purchase hydrocotyle asiatica in their product?

I found no results at all for Lemsor.

Maybe it's my Canadian Search Engine?

Rather then the liquid, could I try a pellet form of hydrocotyle asiatica?? I see abchomeopathy carries it in everything from a 3x to a CM.

Please advise so I may obtain what you are referring to.

thank you again.

Hydrocotyle belongs to vegetable kingdom. It grows in India/Pakistan and other asia countries.
This should be used in mother tinture (Q) if you try on internet you can buy it from india on line.
