Constant Cough and Cold in 5 year old

Hello

My Kid is 5 years. He has constant cough since 4 months. IT starts with throat burning and then dry cough and then gets converted to wet cough and then he has respiration problem. We have started homeopathic medicine for the last 4 months but now are worried whether the cough will go. Are we on the right track.
