Lack of Appetite in Infant

My son was born premature at 32 weeks gestation. He had no serious illnesses and was in the special care unit for 16 days. He is 4 months old now and has a small appetite. His growth is starting to level off. He was born weighing 4lbs, 4ounces, 17inches long. He now weighs 12lbs, 10ounces and is about 24ounces long. He only takes about 3 ounces every 4 to 4 1/2 hours. what do you recommend to increase his appetite at each feeding???

I just realized you answered the how long question. How much should I buy of these products? Also, I didn't see the Antim Crud available for purchase on this site, where can I buy it? Lastly, how much do I give him of these??

i would not advise any direct remedy to a month year old infant.

He's 4 months old and why wouldn't you recommend this treatment???

If you consider the premature birth, he is just one month old, after the 'normal' ten months.

No one should suggest medicines on a daily basis ,leave alone for a month continuously on such scanty information, for such young kids.

Actually, if you consider the premature birth, he's 2 months old. He was born at 32 weeks gestation, that's 8 weeks early. His due date was January 30th and he was born on December 7th...do you think his height and weight aren't an issue right now??

It is something that can't be determined on these forums, where you get all sorts of prescriptions at the drop of a hat.

Never, ever depend on these forums for prescriptions, unless you cross check with someone knowledgable.

How can you blindly believe a total stranger, and put the health of your baby in jeopardy?

Do check with a homeopath in person nearer to you.

What happens if the kid starts proving the medicine?

Are you people aware that it is a distinct possibility to prove a medicine, even if it is indicated, if used continuously for months together, by producing 'accessory' symptoms?

Did you people ever read the 'Organon' and understood it?

Will you take responsibilty if something bad happens to the kid by your rescriptions?

Forums are meant for discussions. Not for throwing remedies in the ring, without even taking the case.

The medicines are advised by learned Dr.Deoshlok Sharma are well proved in homeopathy,so no question of proving arises a new.Only new medicine if any invented needs to be proved.Thank you givinmurthy for your nice questions

'Proving' is a term used if the patient gets new symptoms belonging to the medicine, which were not there earlier, when the medicine is repeated for a long time, in the same potency.

I am not talking about proving a new medicine. I a talking about getting 'accessory' symptoms, that belong to the medicine.

I shudder to think what is going to happen to the patients who belive these prescriptions, and take them.

Do people want to take advice from those who don't know even basic fundamentals?

When a disease needs use of a medicine till its cure whether it is short or long term and if any new symptom arises the during this period of medication, homeopathy has kept a provision to change the medicine in accordance with the sympton arises a new,so it is wise not to think otherwise. Thanks for the question

That is better.

So, how do you know when the symptom picture changes if you advice the patient to take the medicine for a month?

There was no advice to stop the medicine, if there is a change. There are sensitive people who react even after 2 to 3 doses, and some even on a single dose.

How can you presume before hand that one month is required for the reaction to happen?

And what about the weekly dose and daily dose concept?Which postulate in Organon supports this?

Homeopathy has definite rules to follow. It is not a trial and hit method. It is science.

Somewhere else the famous doctor said recently that his cure rate is 4 to 5%. A competent homeopath's,( who follows the organon) cure rate hovers around 80%, if not more.

The 4 to 5% cure rate is nothing to boast off, as it can happen without the help of any medicine, and can occur naturally,in some cases if you leave the patient alone.
