Loss of smell

i am suffering from loss of smell for the last 5 years. way back in 2001 i was sleeping in a lodge next to the window. i inhaled the fumes of kebak frying from a hotel which was in the ground floor of the hotel jst below my room. When i got up in the morning i was smeeling the same kebab odour wherever i went. it took almost 6 months to come out of that smell. after that i lost the smelling power almost 90%. I can smell only strong odours. I dont know what to do know. When i consulted one ENT in my town he told there is no medicine in allopathy. you have to leave with it for the rest of your life. Please anybody help me. Somewhere i read Anacardium will help. Please help me immediately.
