Pain in back -left side

My husband called this morning (truck driver) and mentioned that he has been experiencing a sharp pain in his lower back on the left side. I'm thinking that is the kidney.
Any suggestions for him?

Truck drivers do not get enough circulation in their bodies below their waists. They need to do some simple exercises and slow stretches when leaving the truck for any short or long time.
