Lichen Planus

I have had Lichen Planus for 2 months. It started on my abdomen as reddish/purplish bumps, and it has since spread to my back, chest, shoulders, neck, arms, hands, and legs. The rash is lighter and the bumps are smaller on the areas of my body exposed to the sunlight. It is extremely itchy, and the itching gets worse when my skin is wet (as with sweating, swimming, and showering).

I was prescribed topical and oral steroids, but neither had any effect at all.

I don't know what started this; I do not take any meds on a regular basis, and I do not have hepatitis. I only have seasonal allergies and asthma. I also smoke.

I have been under a fair amount of stress, but not about anything new. I always worry about my family, finances, household responsibilities, etc. I have a stressful job, but I thoroughly enjoy the work that I do. I have also been a little more tired than usual. I am generally a happy and positive person.

I am very interested in trying a homeopathic treatment, but I don't know what to try, how much to take, or how long to take it. I can't bear the thought of this rash existing for 2 years. I would appreciate any advice or feedback.

I am a 31-year-old female. I am married with two children.
My weight is 135, and my height is 5'4'. I live in the US in Pennsylvania; the climate is always changing.

I developed hundreds of reddish-purple, very itchy bumps all over my abdomen one day. After a month the rash persisted and I had developed more bumps on my abdomen and legs (right below the knee), so I saw a dermatologist. I have also had excema and psoriasis on and off for many years. I had a small outbreak of excema near my nose at the time, and I was prescribed an antibiotic that I now believe made my Lichen Planus much worse. I was also prescribed a steroid cream for the Lichen Planus. I did not use the cream as prescribed because it wasn't helping. I went back to the dermatologist a month later with my excema healed but the Lichen Planus over much more of my body and terribly itchy. I was given oral steroids that did not work at all. The rash on my arms, shoulders, and legs is more pink in color and the bumps are much more clustered than on my back and abdomen. The bumps on my abdomen and back are much darker and more separated from each other. I can only guess that exposure to sunlight makes a difference. All of it is horribly itchy, and it is very uncomfortable. I don't know how the seasons affect it because I've only had it for two months.

I am very self-conscious of the rash, especially on my shoulders and arms because it is very noticeable. I work closely with other people, and I get lots of questions about what I have. Not only is it embarrassing, but I fear that this rash will spread to my mouth, which could put me at risk for mouth cancer.

I am not diabetic; I have always had a strong desire for sweets. My thirst has not changed. I don't have any strong desires for any particular foods. My blood pressure is normal with and without meds. I only take albuterol when my asthma flares up and Claritin when my allergies bother me. I rarely need either one. I have a family history of allergies, but not much else.

My days are busy. I work full time. I don't always eat breakfast or lunch. I usually stay at work longer than I am supposed to. At the end of the day, I pick up my kids, make dinner, clean up, and prepare for the next day. I spend about an hour relaxing after they go to bed. My weekends usually involve cleaning and shopping. I have been much more tired than usual over the last couple of weeks.

As far as my mind-behavior, I have little fear of public speaking, but I am otherwise very introverted. I prefer to be with my family or alone. I don't like to be in places where there are lots of people, but I can go out when I need to. I don't really have any unknown fears.
I hope this is enough detail. Thanks for your response.
