Help with fainting....
Hi - earlier today my 8 yr old daughter nearly fainted after helping treat a small bunny that had been attacked by a cat. The blood didn't trigger the spell (there wasn't much anyway), it was more hearing the bunny screaming when held and knowing that it had extensive injuries and noting my anxious reactions! Also, the medicine-type smell of the room where we were cleaning the bunny's wounds was adding to what was happening to her.I turned around and she was covered in dots of sweat, was PALE (even her lips) and was whispering that everything was going black. We quickly got her outside where her color returned immediately, although still weak. I gave her some arnica 30c, but I wasn't sure if that was indicated. It has been 3hrs since, and she now has a small headache, but is otherwise fine. I should also add that she has no health problems at all. She is a very sensitive and empathic person, so I think she was too caught up and upset about what the bunny was going thru.
What remedy would be appropriate for this type of faintness? I have many books on homeopathy and this isn't covered! Also, is there a different remedy for the post-fainting spell to set the body right more quickly?
THANKS!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
My book (Practical Homeopathy by Vinton McCabe) suggests the following.
Arnica would be for fainting after a fall or a blow.
Aconite - from fright, from hearing bad news, or fainting caused by violent pain.
Chamomilla - when fainting comes from intense physical pain or sudden overwhelming emotions.
Coffea - from overexcitement or too much of any stimulant.
Ignatia - from intense emotion, from grief.
Nux - at the sight of blood, or from strong odors or perfumes.
Pulsatilla - lack of air or from being in an overheated stuffy room.
Silicea - at the sight of needles.
Veratrum - faining with a cold sweat.
He doesn't mention it, but I wonder if Carbo veg is another possibility. Did she want to be fanned?

Dear Rajendra
If you have any doubts about the prescription, please ask.
I have handled such situations and aconite works very well.

I only wanted to know the effect of Aconite for my knowledge.

Aconite is the first remedy to be given for the after effects of witnessing such a scene.
If the patient is recollecting the incident much later and is still feeling bad about it, Opium helps.
If there is collapse and the patient feels cold to touch and is on the verge of fainting, carbo veg will revive very fast.

Thank you very much for the information - it was exactly what I was looking for! I gave her the aconite last night and it worked perfectly. And now if it ever happens again, I'll know what to do!
And I'm going to try to find a copy of your book, Daisy43 -- THANKS!!
