help my baby with eczema

Hi everyone,
Can someone help my suffering baby with eczema? I will be grateful for life. I have written

whatever I can remember about her history.

BAckground: We live in the northeast USA & we are basically from Bangalore. Winters here are

harsh..temperate climate. My baby is July 2005 born. Her dad has asthma & I, her mom have keritosis

pilaris ( a skin condition where in there are lot of red bumps on the back of hands & legs when

scracthed,a white thing comes out).

Health: She weighed 7 pounds & 6 ounces when she was born & it was a normal delivery ( i took

epidural & antibiotics before delivery for my MVP). I just remember having severe itching for abt a

week in my last trimester & other than that no other complications .My baby is not a chilly type &

I don't have to cover her up frequently.When she was just born, she had blocked tear ducts & the

eyes (mostly right)used to water most of the time. She has several birthmarks (Mangolian near the

shoulders & bottom,Stork bite near the back of the neck,Strawberry mark on her finger & a small wine

stain like mark on her cheek). She got heat bumps on her whole body including head when she was

newborn & it got cleared pretty fast. I didn't know that I had to avoid peanuts while I was pregnant

& while nursing( after she was 10 months old, I stopped peanuts in my diet). I kept nursing her till

she was 2 years with no other formula or anything else.Regarding bowel movements,she is normal & not

constipated.Regarding nail deformity, she is normal & doesn't have any nail deformity & no white

spots. Her complexion is uneven. She has fair complexion on her face but slightly darker in the

abdomen area & legs. Before she was a year old, she had congestion with slight wheezing & was on

nebulizer quite a number of times. During her second year, by God's grace, the congestion reduced

drastically & its been almost 5 months since she had any congestion or nebulizer. She was having

congestion due to cold medicine that we were giving after cold(no cough) i think. In the blood rast

test,we came to know that she has high allergy to egg whites & wheat & mild allergy to egg yolks,

peanuts. I didn't avoid wheat but I mostly give her rice , dhal & vegetables.She likes spices,

sweets,popsicles,ice cream and doesn't like to drink milk( but still drinks sometimes).

Eczema: The eczema started when she was 6 months old in the skin folds behind her knees. What I

have observed is that he eczema appears on both sides of her body with the same shape & size at the

same time. Tiny blisters sometimes(just one ) started appearing after MMR vaccine in the area of

lesion.( She had a mild reaction to chicken pox vaccine. She had small fluid filled blisters on

some parts of the body but it disappeared quickly). She first had eczema behind the knees, then it

showed in the diaper area,then the skin folds in the hands, above the knees, behind the right

ear(gone now), in the stork bite behind the neck area(sort of gone). She would scratch a lot in the

diaper area & then I stopped using disposable diapers. Now, the itching when exposed to air has

stopped but she still has vulvar itching sometimes.Slowly she is getting in her armpit area. We have

to use hydrocortizone 1% cream & eucerin plus almost everday. Otherwise, she starts scratching.
More about her eczema: Itching in and around the lesion ,no cracking or scaling of the

skin.Pigmentation of the skin in the lesion area only in the buttocks due to frequent diapering i

think .She scratches constantly. Swimming in a chlorinated pool aggravates her eczema. The affected

areas would become red and itch mightily, the itching being aggravated by the warm sun,tub baths,

eating raw carrots & out in cold air.Itching is worse from warmth,cold, at night, from bathing (the

rash worsens too), from scratching (usually). Redness is seen more during the flare-ups, else, she

just scrathes & it becomes red sometimes.

Child's behaviour: She gets along very well with her friends.Being the youngest one in the family

knows how to get things done by screaming. She is slightly stubborn & wants to do everything her way

, gets angry very soon. Otherwise she is a pleasant & a happy baby.
