Best Shoes for Plantar Fasciitis???

What shoes have worked for you the best, with plantar fasciitis? I need to get new shoes and would like to know specifically the brand name, and model #. I can't afford to buy very many pairs of shoes, so I need to find out from those suffering from plantar fasciitis, and which shoes have provided the best support, comfort and relief. Thanks.

Hi,
thought I'd post something as this thread has 854 views and no replies...
There's a long, long thread on amazon.com forum about plantar fasciitis which would be a good read and includes mentions of shoes people like..
Some people love Birkenstocks and shoes with a good arch support. Personally, as I have quite flat feet, any arch support creates pain.
My physio advises shoes that have a bendy, flexible sole.
If you order shoes from the internet you can always try them around the house for a while and then return them if they're not comfortable. Most shoe shops let you return shoes if they haven't been worn outside the house too.
Good luck!

Forgot to say - to answer your question, my best shoe is Rockport's Fayette womens washable trainer.

I have had plantar fasciitis off and on for several years.

I have worn SAS SHOES in the winter with an insole called Powerstep from my chiropractor. They are the best shoes I've found in terms of inserting your own insole. There is a SAS store in Hagerstown, Md at the Potomac Outlets. Not sure if there's one located in other outlets.
FOR SUMMER, I wear CHACOS, also highly reommended by the chiropractor.
Now if I could find slippers with a good arch, that would be great.
