The question is confusing as moles don't resemble boils. There exists however something that resembles a bright red mole, but unlike a true mole which is a benign tumour of the skin pigment melanin, a crimson red mole is a benign tumour made of vascular tissue. They commonly appear in women in their mid-forties and cause no symptoms although they can bleed profusely if cut. Japanese researchers found that they are caused by oxidative stress. They appear at an earlier age in people with high levels of oxidative stress such as those who have suffered from ME for a number of years. Appropriate treatment would be aimed at treating the cause, the condition that caused the oxidative stress.

A boil on the other hand is a red pus-filled swelling caused by an infection of a hair follicle. They may be recurring in people with poor immune systems caused by conditions such as diabetes or poor nutrition. Treatment would involve improving the immune system.
