14 month old with an UTI

My 14 mo daughter was diagnosed with an UTI. I was informed that her protein levels weren't high but her nitrates were.
What is the difference and what will be useful in giving a child? I personally have done well with pure cranberry juice but I doubt my "toddler" dd will appreciate the taste.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Also...
I was told about
*ProBiotics
*Demanose (sp) the natural sugar in Cranberries
*Larix (sp)
*book called: "Smart Medicine for a Healthier Child" by Janet Zand
any and all information on the above would be appreciated.

Have you not read any other posts? We need symptoms and are interested in "who" the child is personally.

I am a practitioner, not a doctor, care to tell me what UTI means? The next step is to describe how it treats the child, what took you to the doctor, what were the complaints? Even Homeopathic doctors will ask you this.

Do you actually want help or were you informing us of something you wanted us to know?

Most young children can be cured of many things that allopathic meds will not. The longer the allopathic treatment the greater the problem will be life-long-never cured. Sabra

I'm sorry, I thought I had described the symptoms and I thought I was pretty clear in stating that I was wanting advice/help.
Also, I'm not so sure in regards to wanting to know "who" the child is personally....I stated she's my 14 month old daughter. What more are you asking for?

In my research of the site...I did not find anything relating to small children and treatment for Urinary Tract Infections (UTI's ~ thanx Anonymous for the description).

One thing I did not mention is that she did have a low grade fever and was slightly congested too before we went to the dr. The NP (Nurse Practioner) wanted to test for a UTI first since her lungs sounded good at the time of the examination. She has been congested only in the mornings since then and no more fever.

The thing that sparked me in having her urine tested was that she had been complaining of her diaper area. Pulling and tugging at her diaper. When I checked her vaginal area it looked a bit pinker than normal (but not red or inflamed). I was not sure if she was just irritable from the fever and the diaper was just bothering her or not. So, I questioned it when at the Dr's. But, initionally, we went in because of the fever and congestion.

Hope that info helps more....
Please advise.

Hi ....
Try this website
http://www.waterfall-d-mannose.com

And contacting the people behind it, John and Anna, is also recommended, they are very experienced with all aspects of UTIs and bladder infections. They will know what to do.
