Laryngitis - cannot breath

Hi,

My 7 yrs old boy had a terrible laryngitis last night. At 5 am he woke up coughing a bit saying he cannot breath. Unfortunately I did not have any remedies with me, but the cool air outside helped him out.
I realize I should have given Acon or Spongia.

He used to have a barking couhg everytime he had a cold between the ages 2 and 4.

I wonder how should I proceed in the future in the similar situation?
- no real coryza, but the voice is hoarse a bit and tries to cough up phlegm. The phelgm does come out, but there is no color.
- when he coughs, he says there is pain in the throat. The sound of the cough is hoarse.Does not cough a lot, no barking.
- the breathing problems occur in the middle of the night. Last night at 3 am and at 5 am
- he himself described that there is phelgm in the throath and that is the reason he cannot breath. In reality the phlegm is not that sticky or thick.

I gave him Phosphorus 200 c this morning before going to school. I chose Phos because his stomach has been upset several days, and because he has a tendency to nosebleed.

Please advise, did I choose correctly or how should I act next time? These are such rapid situations that I have no time ask for advise when the case is on.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
When there is mucus for sure with inability to expectorate it, it means the mucus is viscid (sticky). Even thin mucus can be sticky.

In such situations try Kali Bich 30c first. Three doses maximum.

Some people may suggest Ant. tart ,but its indications are different. In the case of Ant. tart , it is the lungs that are full of mucus, with an inability to expectorate it, and the patient (generally old people) gasps for breath.

It is rarely indicated for childern.

Hello,

Do you still recommend Kali bic, even if there is not a lot of mucus?

To my knowledge laryngitis is due to the swelling of ...something. Not due to too much phlegm.

Kali bich.

Kali bich. is to be used in the homeopathic treatment of patients with laryngitis accompanied by a chronic hoarseness of voice, the remedy can also be used to deal with individuals who have experienced a total loss of voice, and the remedy can also be used to treat hoarseness in the voice which tends to worsen towards the evening. Physical symptoms commonly experienced by the patient include a tickling and persistent sensation in the throat, this causes the patient to hawk and cough a lot, and the patient may also need to clear the throat a lot of times. Physical symptoms may also include the presence of a dry and constricting sensation in the throat. Symptoms include soreness and rawness in the larynx, and the persistent burning sensation radiates from the throat up into the nostrils causing a lot of discomfort to the affected person. A persistent and rattling cough is also often seen in most patients. The patient also suffers from the accumulation of a tough, and stringy type of mucus that is very hard to expel from the nose. Symptoms may resemble the condition known as the croup. The condition of the patient can greatly worsen when the person is out in cold and damp conditions, sudden changes in the weather can also aggravate the condition, the condition of the patient is also worsened by excessive use of the voice, such as speaking or laughing for too long, and a persistent coughing after midnight worsens the symptoms disturbing sleep. The presence of one or more of these symptoms requires the immediate use of Kali bich. as a homeopathic remedy in the treatment of the laryngitis.

Dear,
CAUSTICUM is the remedy for your child, give him 3 doses of this remedy with an interval of 3 hours, and then report back.

murthy,
the patient has painful cough which is not in KAlI BICH, also expectoration is difficult,
Maria has said that the expectoration is not sticky or thick, so we can also find this symptom in CAUST, as
expectoration difficult although loose.

You have to decide what to do. There are two remedy choices.

Read both of them or follow your instinct.
