many madicines given to a 2 yr old

I read the above in this site and worried a lot because recently a homeopathic dr gave 5 different medicines to my 2 and a half yr old son. Is that wrong?
My son was suffering from cold, fever, and loss of appetite. He's a very fussy eater and when he's sick he won't take a single spoon. I think because of his poor eating he suffers from cold cough every month if not every 2 weeks. I used to take him to Allopath but this time I thought to try homeopath. He seems improving, only thing makes me worried is he's taking 5 different medicines.
Should I stop from giving so many medicines to him?
1 of them was only for 3 to 5 days which has completed so now he has 4 more medicines.
If someone can help me I would be very thankful.

depending whether or not past allopatic treatment --create blockage----loss of appetite ;with reoccuring cold--is indicative of strating treatment with silica.....if skin ailments envolved in past health history---due to improper treatment indicates sulphur---
based on information given
start treatment with single dose (3 pellets) 'only' silica 200c--no repetition of dose..
child is to avoid--salt/high sodium foods;smoked foods;cold food;cabbage;all acidic foods and drinks (coffee;tea;vinegar;all carbonated soft drinks;fruits and juices;alcohol based products;..etc)
encourage --hot foods
no other remedies/medicines
as mentioned much depends upon what occur in health history--details involved preceding current condition-family history...etc

Thank you for your reply. My concern was if I should continue the medicines homeopath gave him. He did full check up for my son and gave the following:
1. BC I i think it is Bi-Carb.

3. Alfa Alfa tonic
4. Calcarea Carbonica
5. tincture mixed with water-- forgot name (it was for fever only 5 days dose)

ABSOLUTELY not --i will not advise to continue such combination/treatment---this is guess work by so called homoeopath you see--to me only shows lack of understanding ..but it is your decision......my suggestion is posted above---

Please read the post on "2yr old diag with asthma." This will give you an idea how we want symptoms and how we think and study. Try one remedy thought as best, and how it progresses.
While your child was not "hurt" he was not helped either, and it confuses the symptoms making it hard to choose correct one. Small children are far easier to choose remedy than an adult that has a life time of allopathic or mixed messages and mis-management of diet.
Report in single sentences so it doesn't all run together. Easier to read. Sabra

A lot depends upon from where you learnt homeopathy.
Some homeopaths are paranoid (no offence meant !) about this and insist that one and only one med should be given.
We have friends here who also think like that.
My own experience (and the experience of many other learned homeopaths) is that two complementary meds given inter-changably or in quick succession....also work.(In cases where warranted).
Some meds are used as inter-currents (see another thread where I explained this....started by Bandarbabu).
More than two...Ah!..Ouch!
I think the homeopath is not sure what he is doing!
He/she is just hoping one of them might work. Probably he/she hasn't even verified the relationship between the meds.....and that is a matter of concern !
However, some homeopathic manufacturers have combination meds. They have a panel of Doctors who have researched the inter-balance between the meds in the combination. Those meds also work. (Some people claim....the benefit is only 70 to 80 % with them).

Excuse me !
The above is not a comment for the Bio-chemic range of 12 meds and their combinations.
This range works more like food addatives...yet has great healing power.
I recommend these very often ...side by side with homeopathic meds aswell.
(I notice Astra is also a great fan of Bio-chemics like me).

Your doctor is an absolutely incompetent fellow.Don't go to him in future.

I am writing in detail below. Please help me to find out proper remedy.
1. He was born very healthy (8 lbs 12 ozs.), was above average in growth till he was 9 mths old.
2. By the time he was 1 yr old already had few colds and started loosing weight due to poor eating habits.
3. Now everytime someone gets cold cough or any virul infection at home he gets it immediately.
4. Very low immune system
5. Very hard to feed specially when he's sick
6. Sweaty head while sleeping
7. BM every day
8. Can hold urination like an adult.
9. Drinks milk and ok amount of water
10. In October he had fever and cold for 10 days continuous. It seemed like he was teething too, used to touch his molar gum
Allopath said it was throat infection and was on antibiotics. It seemed like med didnot help but he got ok on his own.
11. Again fever and cold in November 1st week. That's when I went to Homeopath. He gave 5 different meds. 2 for 3 times a day. 2 for once a day and 1 for twice a day. I have mentioned names above.
I am concerned about too many meds though they have helped a lot now.

Be careful, Silicea and Sulphur two entirely diff remedies, make sure.

No I don't think he's dehydrated. He is not on diapers most of the time at home. He tells when he needs to pee and he pours a lot like an Adult. He's drinking enough liquid (milk and water nothing else actually).
When he is sick his water intake lessens though.
His fever in oct was like never going below 100, every 2-4 hours used to go upto 103. Used to give Advil which used to bring down to 100. Continuously same pattern for 10 days. With cold, running nose.
But the one in Nov was lot more milder. Only once 103 and was in control in 2 days... With cold, running nose.
Normally even if he is fine while sleeping he sounded like he has blocked nose. But this time after giving him homeopathy it is not the same. He seems getting well very fast. Appetite has increased.

disreguard sulphur---also thirstless during heat---with recurrent colds--and urination increased during these times is indicative of calcarea carbonica...

Stop using advil. It suppresses. You may think he is better because of lowered fever, but not true. It interferes with your reports.

I stopped giving him other 3 meds. Just giving Calcarea Carb 200 -- 4 pills once a day in the morning.
What about Alfa Alfa Tonic? Is it to increase appetite? Should I give him this Tonic too?

Oh I could not get to use internet during this period. I had been giving it every day. Ok now I will stop. After how many days I should report? Yesterday we had a guest who had cold so I am worried that he might have caught cold from the guest. Till now I have not seen any symptom tho.

My son is suffering from cold again :(. As I said there was a guest at our place day before yesterday who had severe cold, I guess he got it from her. Yesterday night his nose was somewhat blocked and this morning he has runny nose --very thin watery.

It may be time to try BELLADONNA 30X if you find it, or another potency. Before bed and another, only if he awakens, for 3 days. keep us posted.
This is a good children's remedy for throat/ears/fever, also has the symptom of loss of appetite. You mentioned he gets red. This also is Bella.
Do not know the Alfa Tonic. Ask in the health store. Ask other parents.
Keep people away from him for awhile until he gets well. People that visit with colds are very rude. Protect your child even if they don't like it. Too bad, his health more important.

Do not use over the counter stuff. They are not helpful, just made by companies to make money.

Low mg and only one tablet cut in half, one half am-pm. Even adults take only about 2 per day, so do not overdose, even with vitamins. Keep out of his reach!!!

After you finish with Belladona,give him Nat.mur 6x,2 tabs,twice a day,for a week.It will build his resistance to colds.
It is a biochemic potency and can be used for a long time,without fear of aggravations.
If Belladona relieves it should do so,within a day.If not come back.We may have to give a different medicine.
It is difficult to be without Pankaj,but we will try to handle as many cases as possible,till his return.

The BC your doctor suggested is Baryta Carb and not bi-carb.It is one of the well known medicines for tonsils.
He selected one most prominent medicine each,for each of your child's problems,just like allopathic doctors.
What an irresponsible way to prescribe.I still seethe with anger whenever I see your post.
