anger and depression

What would be a good remedy :
male, 60ish with mild hypertension for which he takes medication. Borderline high cholesterol, otherwise physically ok. He has been very lethargic and prone to depression for several months. He gets very angry, he expects better of people and is often disappointed. He is very concientious and expects others to be the same but he is also very impatient and snappish. He bottles things up and then mulls over them at night unable to get to sleep, especially some things that happened a while ago where he was treated unfairly. His sleep is unrefreshing and he wants to stay in bed. Recently he had a bout of severe vertigo with nausea, he needed to go to the emergency room. He is doing special head exercises and has taken some phosphorous which seems to be helping. (Also tried bryonia without much success)
