wrong remedy

Please can someone clarify a point, if the remedy I have chosen is not working,(maybe got worse but that may just be the normal progression of symptoms),do I need to wait a while or even to antidote before I try another remedy, especially if the 2nd choice is inimical to the first.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
depends whats the potency of the remedies you are taking.

low potency remedies could be taken in a gap of 2 days safely.

but if you have taken 200c or more, you shouldnt take inimical remedies before taking an antidote of the first one.

At 30C, as Rishi also said, it is ok to take a remedy after 2 days or so. Antidoting is again based on symptoms and not all remedies listed as antidotes work.

More importantly have you ruled out the possibility of initial aggravation after taking this remedy? It is better you present symptoms and describe what happened after you took the remedy.

I have posted my symptoms here before but nobody responded.
I have taken pulsatilla, think I should go back to sepia. I took it before and it wore off I was told it was the wrong remedy then somebody here said I should have tried a higher dose. In the meantime I had tried succussing, I think I over did it, is that possible? Anyway everything got worse, I wasn't sure if I had aggravation or if I had antidoted remedy. decided to start again, I took antidote (camphor) and waited. Saw some improvement then things went static. Decided to try pulsatilla but it really isn't helping. I know that I am rushing all this but you can't believe how bad I have felt.

here is the info I posted before:
Shy personality except with people I know when I like to talk. Generally insecure since childhood. Moody, sometimes depressed, previously had bouts of crying for no reason but not so bad at the moment. Need affection from my partner but I have no interest in sex any more. Don’t want to go out, would rather stay home just the two of us.
Hot flashes regular as clockwork (every 50 mins), for past two days with extra flashes from moving about. Heat starts around my middle and moves in all directions to back, face, legs, and genitals. Flushing in face. Scanty sweat. Feels worse in the afternoon and evening. Worse from warm bed. Better from cold air or cold wet flannel but I generally feel cold in between flashes unless there is a source of warmth close by. In the evening I am sitting under a blanket sometimes with a hot water bottle but the room temp. is 73.
My nose, hands and feet are most often cold. I feel better for fresh air as long as it’s warm outside.
I had mastoiditis (left ear) as a child and have quite profound deafness (both ears, possible result of childhood medications). This has some effect on my personality as I often cannot hear with many people about and this makes me nervous, I’m much better on one to one. I do find it frustrating; I would really like to join in more. I also have tinnitus from about 30 years ago and this does seem to be a bit worse at the moment although it often is if I am stressed. (The sound is like a lot of birds chirping).
I periodically have low back pain. I had a recent bout last week, the first for a long time, it lasted for two days, it has now gone. I get headaches usually from stress; the pain is not always in the same place, sometimes neck, sometimes behind eyes, or top of head. I haven’t managed to identify any general preference for left or right side. I also occasionally get a shooting kind of pain go through my head, it doesn’t actually hurt, it is just a jolt or shock but it’s right inside my head and it kind of screeches. I have vaginal dryness and loss of libido. Sometimes pain with intercourse (left side). Frequent desire for urination, no pain but feel like I don’t empty my bladder completely.
Complexion dull, pale. Tongue pale with white coating. Skin is dry but we live in the desert! A bit overweight with flabby stomach and bloating. Crave chocolate and cookies.

Thanks you so much for looking at this, here is the info you asked for:
female, 55. 5'5', 145lbs.
my 12 month marking actual menopause started 3 months ago.
dark hair, skin pale/olive.
symptoms worse from warm bed, warm food and drink and from movement. Also from hot shower though I like to shower and wash my hair every day.
Cool shower helps, also throwing off covers/clothes makes it easier to tolerate though it doesn't go any quicker.
The only unique feature I can think of is the regularity which I have been told is not so normal. I can pretty much set my watch to them.
Mother had thyroid problems, osteoporosis and heart disease. She was born with a leaking valve which they couldn't fix when she was a child, she was told not to exert herself, so very little exercise. I try to walk regularly every day. She died of a heart attack.
Mt father was prone to depression. One of my grandparents had diabetes. I have been tested but no problems so far.
I had blood pressure fluctuations when the menopause started, prior to that I had always had great BP.

a couple more things: I was diagnosed with mild Raynaud's. My fingers are feeling stiff, I also fidget a lot with my hands in the evening. I also started getting headaches, this was before I took the pulsatilla, I don't know if it was from the sepia, I didn't have them a few months ago but it could just be because I am stressed from this. Pain is on top and sides of head and on forehead. It sometimes spreads to temples and back of head and neck. It is a pressing sort of pain. It comes on mid afternoon and lasts through the evening. A couple of times it has lasted right through the following day. I have had to resort to allopathic medicine for help. I would guess it was every two or three days on average.

- What has changed since onset of menopause esp mentally?

- How do you react to consolation?

- What are your food cravings?

- What all remedies have you taken, in what potency and in what time period?

- Does moving about aggravate?

- Does tightness of clothing bother you?

- How is your sense of cleanliness generally?

While you answer these questions get started on these:

- Multi vitamins, Calcium, Magnesium, B Complex and Vitamin C
- Primrose oil: 1 tbsp couple of times a day
- Wear layered clothing of natural fibers. Avoid synthetics and tight fitting.
- Eat well balanced high fibre diet.

I have been a bit depressed, sensitive too criticism, sometimes weepy. I crave sugar and chocolate, have put on weight. Movement often brings on a flush but tight clothing does not really bother me unless it is really tight. I like clothes away from my neck but I think it is more to do with being able to get cool easier as I want to throw off my clothes. I keep myself clean and smart, I like to look good.
Remedies I have taken;
(Belladonna 6c + glonione 6c with Lachesis 30c),
Pulsatilla 30c,
Sepia 30c
Lycopodium 30c
Nux 30c

winnieandco last decade
What is the experience after each of those medicines? What did you observe esp Lachesis?

Are you dry and dont feel like doing nothing?

srisri last decade
The lachesis was giving me some help though not a great deal, but I was prepared to wait. I switched only because we were travelling out in the middle of nowhere and I couldn't get lachesis, so I tried pulsatilla. I started to make good improvement and the flushes went away for about a month. There was a car accident - nobody was badly hurt but the anxiety brought on a hot flash with a kind of panic attack and then they came back, just like before I started the remedy. I stopped taking anything for a month or so to let things settle down and then I switched to sepia. I was feeling much less weepy than previously. The sepia did a wonderful job for the next month or so then they started to come back. I took the same remedy, same potency again but didn't improve. I tried succussing. This is when I think I may have overdosed. I was getting worse. After this I panicked, I took lycopodium with no effect, and took nux as I had read that this was good if you had taken too many remedies. Then I went back to pulsatilla. It has settled down a bit back to how it was to start with.

winnieandco last decade
I forgot:
also not thirsty, but dry mouth at night.
Slightly labored breathing.

winnieandco last decade
Nux is taken to neutralize ill effects after lot allopathic medication NOT homeopathic.

From now on, please dont take remedies without a plan and proper keynote matching.

Please take Sulphur 30C. Three doses on empty stomach thirty minutes apart. It is better to take them even before brushing. As you may be aware no drinks/ food 30 mts on either side of a dose. So on the D-Day you have to set apart about 2 1/2 hrs for this. Please observe for a week or two at minimum.

Have you completely recovered from the shock of the accident? If no, take a couple of doses of Arnica 30C. Wait for a few days and then take Sulphur.

Sulphur should go a long way in reverting many disease layers you have presented. Since you seem to have some homeo knowledge, try matching the keynotes for your satisfaction.

Thank you, I will do this on Sunday and will post my progress. I really appreciate your help.

I started Saturday morning so I am now into my 4th day. Not sure what is happening yet. Some of the time I am better, then it gets worse again (more frequent). I am sweating less though. I will keep you posted.

Lets observe for a few days more. What time of the day are you better and worse? Let me know if the symptoms are getting unbearable. Have you started on the other suggestions- multi-vits, primrose oil, etc?

srisri last decade
I have been taking a multivit for a while, also eat high fiber diet. I have just added the primrose oil.
I have been doing better in the night and in the morning. I get worse about mid day. I have also had some strange stabbing pains in my arms and legs. It feels like it is actually the bones that are hurting.

Further update:
I was not too bad in the night but I am worse this morning, back to every 50 mins and I have a dull headache and low back pain. Could this still be aggravation? I had the headache for the first day or so after I started the remedy then it went away until today.

winnieandco last decade
Are things unbearable?

srisri last decade
No, uncomfortable but not unbearable.

winnieandco last decade
Does that mean 'evey 50 mt' symptom disappered for 4 days and reappeared today?

srisri last decade
After the first day the falshes were less regular. Sometimes as much as 4 hours apart. Yesterday they started to get worse in the afternoon and today they have been fairly regular although not always as fierce. They used to be all the same, violently hot so I am still a bit better off than before. I also feel very sleepy today. I slept quite well so I'm not sure why.

Winnie&Co: May I suggest preparing a grid of all your symptoms classified under Chronic and Menopause heads.

Date1 Date2 Date 3
Chronic:

This helps keep track of the symptoms on periodic basis.

Are you familiar with wet doses?
