Very very sick. Help!

In 2002 I was in the best shape of my life....running 5 miles a day, lifting weights, tons of energy.

I came down with a flu-like illness for a week and have never been the same.

After 2 months of feeling lousy I went to the Dr. I had never needed to see the Dr in my life. I was 30 years old. At that time I had no idea how useless and ignorant many Drs are on Autoimmune Illnesses.


The Dr said I had a 'sinus infection' and prescribed antibiotics for 2 weeks. I didn't feel better so I went back. The Dr prescribed stronger antibiotics for 1 month.

The Dr switched to a differenet antibiotic and prescribed them for a month.

I didn't feel better so the Dr THEN orderd blood tests. What an idiot!

My White Blood Cells were elevated, but everything else was normal so he told me to go to a 'specialist'.

I went to a Sinus Specialist and he told me I did NOT have a Sinus Infection! I had SEVERE Allergies. They did allergy skin testing and all of a sudden I was allergic to everything airborne. Dust, trees, grass, corn, weeds, etc.


He started me on an Allergy Serum and I did that every week for 5 years! He also did surgery on a Deviated Septum. No improvement.

I went to a new Dr and they did a test for active Epsten Bar Virus and my anitibodies were elevated. The Dr did nothing for me.


I went to a new Family Dr last year and she tested me for Rheumatoid Factor. It was elevated at 85! I went to an Arthritis Specialist and he said I didn't have Rheumatoid Arthritis, but to 'monitor' it and do blood tests next year.

This year 2008, my Rheumatoid Factor was elevated again and I am now having signs of arthritis in my hands and wrists.

I went to an immunologist and he did a Tumor Necrosis Factor test and HSV-6 test. Upper normal for TMF is 44, mine came back at 220!
He also said I was positive for HSV-6 with elevated antibodies.

He told me my body is seriously ill and fighting 'something' and said he cant' help me, but maybe a Rheumatologist can at the University Medical Center.


I feel like I am now deteriorating more. I have been taking Extra Strength Tylenol, for the past 6 years, and it is no longer helping me be get through the day.


Right now I am trying to get in to to see a Rheumatologist, but they told me the wait time to get in is 7 to 14 days.

I told them, on Friday, that I am IN PAIN and she said they would call me on Monday to get me in sooner.



Here are my symptoms.

Night sweats, muscle pain, numbness in left hand and left foot, brain fog,
cold hands and feet, arms are HEAVY,
calfs are tight and painful, headaches,
severe fatigue, tired when I wake up from 9-10 hours of sleep,
I also have trouble falling asleep(even though I am tired),
I get small muscle twitches all over my body, but mainly in my upper legs and upper arms,
Muscle pain in arms and legs.



I live in Omaha, NE. Does anyone know where I could go to get help?
