Ars Alb Aggravation? ..toddler pls advise

Hi anyone with good experience here..

My daughter is 2yrs 10 months. She is light brown hair, hazel eyes, quite thin due to lack of appetite. Had very bad GERD as baby in hospital alot for first year of her life. She missed out on alot of the 'normal' progression of baby to toddler due to the gastro esphogal reflux .. she vomited everythin, she took Zantac for a few months, I then stopped it and started trying homeopathy with some ups and downs along the way.

Have used puls with her as that seemed to me her nature.. sometimes, then other times she seemed more chamomilla.. very much both of these but I know combo rems. are out of question, have tried and think this made her worse for a while.

She is fairly happy go lucky but only likes to play with children one on one, not a whole group, hates to be left at a playschool .. she gets sick (vomits) with hysterical crying until mummy comes back, so I don't do it! Although she has a place for kindergarten in September this year so I'm hoping she will be ready then. When I take her to the little school for visits she wants security..she wants picking up, even though she seems excited in the car, her cousin goes there, and its ok if her cousin is with her but not if not! She needs to know she is secure i.e. with people she knows loves and trusts, although she is a bit bossy too and no is the most common word in her language.. also defiant and defiance leads to tantrum. Jealousy issues with 10 month old baby brother! She loves/hates him and can hurt him if I'm not on the lookout. She will hug him if she's in good spirits, usually better morning and worse when run down and tired, she doesn't nap during day anymore unless she drops off in car somewhere.

Foods she likes.. sausage and meats generally and nuts and sweets, but not bread for some reason will not eat sandwhich, maybe texture may be just not used to eating a wide variety of foods. Loves melon but not apples, drinks cold water and always wants her 'milky' with mummy still.. she is regressed in some areas and I go with this feeling she needs it still.

Um.. OK. A week ago I gave her a dose of nux vom. on advice of homeopath here, 30c in water.. she seemed better, more pliable, less 'no', less defiance, eating better sleep better.. on the whole some big improvements. However yesterday morning early she vomited entire stomach contents and kept retching and retching, I gave her (probably stupidly but wanted to stop sickness) arsenicum alb 30c, 2 pellets under tongue.. Am now thinking perhaps she required another dose of nux vom.?? But not sure that is her remedy match as she is a fairly anxious child and needs security moreover than the irritability of nux.

On giving the dose of ars alb (didn't have time to dilute in spring water just straight in mouth).. within minutes she was brighter and took water, she then had biscuits and more water and wanted cuddles.. she slept later that day but very up and down, awoke at 4am with need for a milky and cuddle with mummy, went back down to bed fine. Has been extremely tired and extrodinarily tearful.. big crying! Neeeeeeed mummy and have to be carried, she puts her arms round my neck and won't let go.. seems aggravation to ars alb.. much more anxious and big crying and jumpy, worse if I raise my voice at all, she cries.. I feel am walking on egg shells! Although she is very changeable within this.. big cry, off food still, just milky with mummy, lots of reassurance, then she is suddenly all laughter and happy little toddler for a while.

So I need to know should I see this through for few more days? Any advice on whether or not I may have hit on a closer constitutional rem. for her?? I'd love to know how to go ahead now. How to dose a toddler if you do see improvement with the remedy .. ie. if the 30c works out well in next week would i then give a 200c diluted in spring water.. just 1 tspn??

My current dilemma is knowing whether or not I should see this aggravation through .. some good stuff but alot of anxiety and crying and needing security which is wearing me out coz I've another baby that needs attention and she hates that right now.

Any ideas on this? IF this remedy sounds like her then pls. someone let me know and i'll gladly see this through, I just want her to get better. She obviously still has some GERD problems as she vomits when overly upset or some food going down 'the wrong way'.. (although she hasn't vomited since giving the dose of Arsenicum Alb yesterday morning. Good thing?)

Many thanks, in anticipation..

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You should have taken her to your homoeopath rather than self-prescribing. Homoepathy is a thoughtful science and you should not give and take remedies on your own. Take her back to your dr.

I would have taken her to my homeopath. dr. only she is away currently, hence the posting. I had hoped for something a little more helpful, obviously I realise a mistake has been made which is why I've come into the forum with the dilemma. Yes I am quite aware that homeopathy is indeed a thoughtful science. Any thoughts yourself other than simply scoffing??
Thanks anyway.

I have given plenty of information here and willing to give more to questions asked. I'm very surprised that for what this site is supposed to be about you have not extented some compassion or at least a brighter thought regarding an actual remedy, or even an antidote, if I had wanted a telling off I wouldn't have come here!

please is there anyone else who can shed some light on a remedy or an antidote right now? She just awoke shrieking .. something like night terror, has happened before she took the Ars Alb so not a new symptom. It just seems to be aggravation, wonder if I should see it through with her??

Hopeful, in anticipation Rm

I have read through this a few times and would suggest Ignatia in a 30c liquid, a few drops on her tongue is a dose. I wouldn't give her more than a 30c of any remedy as she seems to be quite a sensetive child. You may up the potency by using a small container of some sort, with a little water in it, mix in the 30c and shake it hard before giving the same remedy should help to aleviate symptoms and aggro's. What do you think? Best wishes

Thanks for info Parachute.

I had to antidote her. So will give it a few days. Interesting, I had also been looking at that one, even though she has spurts of happy toddler there is definite hypersensitivity and possible grief from the trauma of hospital as baby in her sub concious. She gets hysterical when tired and pathetic etc. There are some parts on the remedy profile which I would say would hopefully help to lift some layers.. others which do not fit so perhaps not constitutional (she loves open air for eg.)but I think the idea of just giving her a few drops to see how she responds is a good one due to that nature of her.

So thanks for help.

Let you know if any change.

Good!. As for constitutional Rx, I find it rare these days that one remedy will do, we have more to deal with complex chemicles in everything than in Dr. S.H. days. However finding the uppermost picture gets easier with practice.
Best wishes.

Do you know that is just so true. We do have chemicals and sugar in everything.. and even if we avoid all foods chemical and eat only organic we still have the environment, plastics, stress, less communication more tv more junk etc etc etc!! Aah dear.

I think will try few drops of ignatia tonight before she goes to bed and just be very careful with the dose to begin with see how she responds. However, I have been looking at Lachesis... The clinginess and hysteria have continued but also happy calmer moments when outside and being creative. I know I have already tried puls. and may have to come back to it later.. it's a process of healing I understand not very often one hits the nail on the head?? How do you go about selecting rems.? Keynote symptoms .. this is more mind and gastro .. the jealousy but needing attention, not interested in food apart from sausage, won't touch a vegetable, very obstinate with her 'no's'.. Anyway Pls could you get back to me because I've also been looking at Lachesis.. if there are any questions you would need to ask I would be happy to answer .. I'm thinking a kick off remedy from where she is at right now is between ignatia and lachesis. Funnily enough lach is fairly close profile for me!

Thanks..

Hi Parachute,
Please advise your thoughts.
I gave my daughter 1 tspn. of dilution of Ignatia 30c as she would not take by dropper. Thought still safe enough dose. She was immediately brighter and walked over to her baby brother to say hello joshy.. you ok? And gave him a kiss. That was immediate response.. bright. She was then very up and down throughout the day alot of fears coming out.. i.e. having fun one minute then being scared and needing mummy.. Some hysterical crying bouts for seemingly no reason. So I'd like to know if you think these are good signs?? She hasn't eaten much only taken water and usual formula. Went to sleep while travelling in car, was calm in the bath tonight, but a door slammmed in the house (wind) and she again became fearful.. wide eyed.. I held her and comforted her and she went to sleep. Alot of insecurities came out.. can I expect this to be aggravation, if so then a good thing you think?? How long can one expect aggravation in a close-fit remedy?? I will hold her as she requires it and let the tears flow and the big cries go etc as this will surely be part of a healing process? Reverting before progression??

I noted that Ignatia is usually mostly used when one is 'stuck' in some kind of grief or the grief has caused symptoms as it may well have done with my gorgeous girl.. not yet 3 bless her. I guess also the birth of her brother was to her a huge shock and maybe a loss.. she had lost the centre stage so to speak and she had been so very ill during her first couple years aswell that she had had more than the average amount of rocking to comfort.

I hope this starts to help a healing process. Please advise what I should expect or wait how long now before looking again at her profile.

Many thanks. In hope.

Could someone pls get back to me. I antidoted the Ars Alb with nux vom. This just took the aggression of the ars alb away and had read that nux vom was antidote to Ars Alb. However am now panicking because following giving her a tspn of dilution of the Ignatia 30c I now find that Nux Vom and Ingatia are inimical.

Would this have caused further damage? I have already given posting above on her response to the tspn of Ignatia 30c. But if the inimical rems. were too close together with dosing then What to do now?? Am confused.. don't know how long one is supposed to leave between rems. if inimical??
Thanks

Hi, I would say she is getting better with the Ign. These remedies are energies not chemicals, don't concern yourself too much with what goes where because a lot of it would have to be taken before permanent damage sets in. 30c is not realy high, if they were taken three or four times a day for months I would worry. As for her behavior, let her be afraid without getting too involved with every emotion that she shows. (and please dont take that the wrong way) little ones need to be aware that there are other demands on mum as well as them, so wean her off the cuddles a bit, obviously you know when is the right time to do so. Hope this helps

Ok thanks for the advice.

She developed a cough just before giving ignatia and today she has vomited entire stomach contents, alot of phlegm so I guess that's good. She was coughing badly last night.. would the rem bring the cough out like this? No need for acute remedy for the cough/chest? Very loose cough with phlegm. She has gone to bed to sleep after vomiting which is a good sign to me, she would usually just want me to hold her, perhaps she will later however she has been asleep for over an hour now.

could I ask you. When it does come to requiring antidoting rems. what is best method to use..the remedy which antidotes? For eg. nux vom was a remedy to antidote ars alb.. so then does the body come into equilibrium, an afore state? Or does it shift into nux vom gear, so to speak? I also read that antidoting with camphor is good method, however is this simply sniffing camphor or taking camphor homeopathically?

Thanks, Rose.

Hi
Sorry to go on. Am little concerned. She keeps vomiting, everything came up again later today. Can't keep anything down. Due to the cough.. lots of phlegm. Wants cuddles. Quite weak, pale, etc. am going to keep her off all dairy. Would like to update you every now and then if ok. If I see positive change then obviously will be confident this good remedy. Then would like to take it further by addressing next stage of healing, may I get in touch with you on her next remedy?? How long can 1tspn of 30c dilution actually last in a toddler??

Many thanks
Rose

Hi Rose, Antidote suggests return to original condition. Debateable from mpov. Lets deal with the condition that is uppermost. Cough with vomiting leading to dehydration and inability to eat. Ant.tart. Ipicac. are prominent. This condition is an acute. Coughing aggrovate is Bry, and Nux vom, with puls, Ip, lesser. Obviously rule out Bry. You say she coughed before Ign? then vomited after it was given? and has returned to old situation?
I would say give Ign again 30c, but I'm no purist, if she has not improved in a few hours get a cough syrup from the pharmacy. This cough must be stopped by any means. Hpathicly I would use Ipicac first, do you have any?
Best

Hi Mike,
sorry picked this post up too late had to give als arb 6c to stop the vomiting as bile was coming up.

So, vomiting stopped, she has begun eating tiny amounts dry foods again and drinking sips cold water. Better morning much worse evening.

Very clingy and whining, wanting holding etc. Very pale, sunken eyes, black under eyes, quite feverish but also chilly. Cough very tickly, chesty, loose and lots of phlegm (clear colored) runny nose also clear. I have given her expectorant syrup. Am listening on the monitor and she still coughing obviously keeping her awake.. and me!

You said Ant.Art. I have this for acute rem. have used it before on my baby boy.

Yes the cough began before the Ignatia rem. and the vomiting kicked in soon after the ignatia, alot of vomiting!

So as I said by the time the end of day came and she was still retching bile I gave her ars alb 6c as it fitted at time and worked before to stop vomiting, only lower potency this time.

Wanted to go to bed early, better for rest and calm, open air and reassurance. The cough is chesty and sounds like still alot to come out.

Don't have Ipicac .. have Ant.Art.30c, puls 6c, 30c, Bryonia 30c.. What would you suggest now??

I guess I've wiped out the Ignatia for now .. but had to stop the vomiting first and foremost just to get her hydrated again.

Many thanks, Rose

P.S. No hysteria or tantrums today.. brighter in the morning, even played with her baby brother which was amazing, seemed to enjoy it!.. as she got sicker later in day she wanted holding, reassurance, warm bath etc. loving on and bed.

Also noticed that as she grew more tired as afternoon time came that's when she started to occassionally hit her baby brother, she hates me telling her off and then gets defiant and tells me no for telling her we don't hit. But apart from this no hysterical behaviour or major tantrum.

Just cough that needs attention before moving on I guess??

Thanks, Rose

Hi Mike,
Didn't get any respose from you but was advised by naturopath to give ant. art. 30c and repeat if initial improvement. I have to yet find a good homeopathic pract. here where we live but naturopath uses rems occassionally (a lot less than I would like)... Anyhow I gave her a dose last night at about 8pm and she seemed 'brighter' mentally, good to note. But the cough over the past 24 hours is still very croupy almost like attack of whooping cough. Runny nose, clear discharge, no more vomiting with coughing, but the coughing fits are exhausting her and keeping her from sleep. So, I gave her another dose of 2 pellets Ant. Art this evening, before she went to bed, she is exhausted and wants so badly to sleep, is feeble and wants reasurrance, cries with the coughing fits because of the pain (I guess) and the consistancy .. the coughing fits rack her whole poor little body and her face becomes contorted as she is in a coughing fit, it is never just an odd cough but a continual row of coughing bout, then she is able to regain her breath before another one comes along. Horrible to witness. I did notice that it went from a wet cough to a much dryer cough today.. more of an irritable dry cough, then this evening much worse again, very wet cough with lots of unexpelled expectoration.. I then administered 2nd dose Ant. Art. it still seems to fit the acute profile.

Could you tell me.. how many doses can I give of the Ant. Art .. before looking at another?? There was again immediate mental change following 2nd dose this evening, but on the monitor the actual cough itself doesn't seem to be clearin up much.. 24 hrs of dosing too early to tell yet?? How long should I leave it before giving another dose, if at all???

Please give advice.. Thanks soooo much, Rm
