This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If you do lot of computer or desk work then you should start exercise especially for your neck and take frequents breaks during work. Your problems seems in initial stage with good warning symptoms that caused you to sort out your problem. It usually takes one to two weeks if you take plenty of rest, rest breaks and stretches during work, and healthy diet (i.e. fruits and vegs, no junk foot, plenty of fluids). You can also take Rhus Tox 30 3-4 pills three times a day for couple of days and stop taking medicines as soon as you find some relief.

Thanks Doctor for your immediate Reply.

Presently i'm taking 'Vertin' medicine, twice a day, started taking from friday(23/05/2008). After that my dizziness have improved a lot.But still i don't feel normal.Sometimes i feel a light continous headache and as a result a feeling of depression also comes in my mind. There is no pain in any of my body-part.Also i'm doing light neck exercises for this.I feel a bit strain in me eyes when i sit before computer screen. Also i feel weakness in my body. The reason behind this weakness is that i have reduced my diet a lot as to reduce fat accumulation.I also sweat a lot. What do you think is there something serious to worry or it is a minor cervical problem which can be cured soon by taking rest for few days and taking healthy diet???Please reply soon as i'm not able to concentrate on my work and keep on thinking about this only, which usually results in feeling of Depression.

Post some more detail about you. As your location, height, weight, etc,. You should not cut down your calorie intake suddenly and tries to lose weight with exercise in gradually increasing mood and decrease your calorie intake in gradual decreasing mood (No Sudden Change. You knows these facts but should apply religiously. You must take leave for some days i know it is always difficult but should take and during this period you should also go for exercise. As you have seen a doctor who have told you that you have cervical problem that is causing your vertigo, but there may be some possibility of inner ear disease for this as well so if you have any problems with your ear or nose or history of these then you should consult a ENT doctor as well. For your vision you should try Euphrasia eyedrops. You can also take Ruta 30 for your eye as well as for vertigo.

Currently i'm in Pune working in a IT Company here. However i belong to Shimla,Himachal Pradesh.I did my Graduation for four years in Punjab. Now for Job I shifted here in Pune.My height is 5'6',weight is 67 Kgs.About My ear or Nose,i never had any problem with these.Currently also my nose and ears are doing fine.I don't have any problem in my back or neck also.yes from past few days i am observing slight pain in a nerve in my right arm from elbow to the wrist. But that too occasionly that might be due to using mouse for long period. And slight heavy head.I want to ask you whether the medicine 'Vertin' can be the reason for this light headache as i'm not able to take any rests(for some reasons i had worked for saturday and sunday also in office).I am also taking care of my sitting posture. Sir,should I go for X-Ray of Neck. Please can you tell some light exercises that i should do for my neck? Also i'm planning to apply for few days leave from the office.
Awaiting for your reply.

Hi,

The medicine you are taking is for vertigo related to gastric complaints, but your vertigo seems related to cervical. Your work schedule is very heavy you should cut at least one or two days otherwise u may be in great trouble. I would advise you to use some software to give you break during work on computer i.e. from blank">http://www.stretchware.com/ this software will guide you about your exercise. You should not use pillow any longer and use hard bed for sleep. You should also take multivitamins specifically containing B6 and B12 i.e. Neurobion (stop if you notice any side effect as all other allopathic medications and vitamin pills or consult your physician about this). You do not mention that you have started taking any medication advised by me.

Try first Cocculus 200 twice daily for 5 to 7 days. Also obtain advice from some Pysio-therapist for cervical excercise and improve ur sitting posture. Adjust heigt of ur monitor in a way that u look straight. No bending of neck.
If Cocculus fails, try Rhus Tox 200 at bed time with Lachnanthes 30 thrice during the remaining day. Keep a min interval 3 hrs between both medicines.

From your first post 'I am getting giddiness when I turn my head, bent or sit down or while down at sleep' possibly relates something to your neck or you may just have some viral sickness. What symptoms you have told to your spinal specialist. Are you still taking your Vertin? or any other medicines?. Do you still have your 'I am getting giddiness when I turn my head, bent or sit down or while down at sleep'?

No doctor, now i don't get any giddiness. From last two days i'm not taking Vertin. That day the doctor also told the possibility of pressing of a Nerve due to my improper sitting posture. Now i'm working on it.But still i'm not confirmed about my problem. Is it Cervical or not-that's why i asked you about some of the symptoms for that.
Please doctor reply me along with some of the Symptoms.
Thanks in Advance

Any symptoms related to head or neck movement may be related to cervical spine and most common symptoms of cervical spine problems are neck pain, neck pain radiating to upper arms, forearms, wrist, or hands, numbness or tingling in the upper extermities, vertigo from neck or head movements, and headaches.

Ok,and if we want to confirm it,is X-ray is adequate or we should go for MRI?

Anumonu last decade
It seems in very early stage in your case if you have no previosu episodes of such things and if so nothing could be find on x-ray or MRI. Body usualy warn in the form of sign and symptoms quite before causing any damage or pathology. So improve working habits, taking good diet full of green vegs and vitamins, and do regular exercise and be healthy.

So you need not to worry any more, but care only.

By have a nice time.

Thanks for the Wishes...However Doctor if it is Cervical problem then can it be cured completely by some medicines or we have to rely on exercises only?If Exercises, then how effective those are?
Also as i'm an IT Professional,I have to work in sitting posture for long durations,so what are the chances of the treatment?
Waiting for your reply...

It is depended on you and your body as how you deal with good lifestyle and how your body adjust and react to medicines and exercise. I posted and reposted how important is to exercise regularly if you do hevavy desk work especialy computer work so please no further question and you can use Rhus Tox 30 3-4 pills at 10 minutes interval once a week as this medicine will guide your body towards balancing the morbid lifestyel as i also have to work on desk for to long period and i also use this.
