Pills vs Drops equivalent?

Is there an equivalent between taking pills or taking drops? Why are sometimes pills prescribed and sometimes drops? Does it make any difference between the two? Does a certain number of pills equal a certain number of drops?

Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Pills and drops are the same thing. However, it is generally felt that drops stirred in water has greater efficacy as it will have more surface contact thereby more nerve endings/ membranes. That is also the reason for prescribing pills sublingually [under the tongue].

BTW pills stirred in water should also be equally effective.

Thank you very much for your response.

Now, does 1 pill equal 1 drop?
