PCOS and eczema...really need help pleeez!

Hi, I know there are a number of PCOS sufferers who have posted here and got replies, but I understand that homeopathy is highly specific for each individual, and since no two people are the same, this is true for the remedy as well.
I am going to list my symptoms in detail and really really hope that I can get some help about the best homeopathic remedy for my problems. I have reached the end of my tether and really want to improve my health now! If any more details are required, please ask.

1) PCOS- I started my period at an early age of 10 yrs. They were never absolutely regular, but roughly every 30-35 days, and lasted for 7 days. I would classify them as normal-heavy. When I was 15 years old, the periods started getting irregular, with longer gaps in between. I went to a family doctor who wasnt concerned and said its due to stress of exams. However, the gaps got longer, reaching nearly 6 months in between. I finally went to a gynaecologist who diagnosed PCOS after blood tests and ultrasound. She put my on the contraceptive pill for 6 months, saying it would 'jump-start' ovaries to work. However, after going off the pill, the problem slowly returned. I am now 28 years old. In between I have had 2 more ultrasounds which confirmed diagnosis and also said my uterus is retroverted, and bulky endometrium. Over the last 13 years, there have been times when the periods occur every month (but never more than for 2-3 months at a time) and then become more irregular again, like once every 2-3 months. I have noticed that whenever I lose weight, they become more regular.

2)I also have contact dermatitis since I was very young, maybe 4-5 years. I am allergic to some detergents, soaps, disinfectants etc and my palms get very itchy and dry. Sometimes, small watery blisters develop, and only subsides are using a steroid cream for few days and avoiding the cause. This sort of thing has occured on my feet soles only once in my life, I think it was after I wore a new pair of leather-soled shoes. However, the palm eczema is still always there on and off, though aggravates at times n then resolves.

About myself personally, I am married since 2 years,
and have noticed a weight gain and find it much harder to lose weight now. I have not used any contraception since one year, but have not conceived any time. Have had only one period since January this year, and one episode of slight brown spotting in between.

I dont eat that much fatty food, about average I would say. I have sweet cravings alot, and fight hard to resist them but sometimes indulge with chocolate. I like to eat carbohydtares alot, especially potato cravings, althouh I understand these are not good, so I try to restrict to cereals, rice etc which are more complex to digest.

I used to have a big constipation problem for many years and due to this, developed a painful anal fissure but realised whenever I take care of my diet and include fruit and wholegrain in my diet, with regularly home-cooked food, there is no constipation and pain, and this has been the case for the last 5-6 months.
I tend to get flatulence, and bloating, with cramps as the gas cant be released.
Recently I feel this is more after I eat wheat, though i never paid attention to this fact before.

I am sensitive by nature, and dont like criticism though if it is said gently to me by someone I love and who cares about me, I willingly accept my mistakes and am ready to apologise and improve myself.

I am a very loving, caring person, but can be very impatient and short-tempered sometimes and cant control my tongue, only to regret saying something hurtful right after ive said it.

I tend to worry about things more than I used to before, and have become much less social and friendly than I used to be when I was younger. Now, I dont like to keep in touch with friends as much as I used to, and am happy with just close family.

I prefer the cold to heat, though am also sensitive to the cold and immediately feel like wearing something warm if it gets a little chilly.

I get very moody, and sometimes very tearful and anxious, even a bit paranoid, for no apparent reason. Other times, I get very happy and excited, again for no apparent reason. I suppose these are termed mood swings

I seem to be more fearful than i used to be, as in if there is a sudden noise or shadow or sight that I was not expecting, I jump or scream with fright and often I have the sensation that someone is behind me while Im working in the kitchen.

I should mention my father died of colon cancer in January this year after a long and painful battle against this dreaded disease. There is also a history of diabetes and hypertension in my family. My mothers side has history of breast cancer as well.

My PCOS symptoms have worsened recently, with hair growth on thighs, stomach and also my skin seems to be worse than before. I dont get much exercise though I try to use the exercise bike at least 3 times a week and go out for walks etc. I have noticed that my food intake is the same as normal/slim people and I dont overeat much. My weight is now 74 kg and my height is 5'6'

I tried taking glucophage for 3 months but the nausea symptoms were very bad and so I stopped. I am not taking any medication at present.

I am not sure what other details to include here, so would appreciate if someone can respond and tell me whats the most appropriate medication, in what dose and for how long. I hope to start a family soon and it will be heart-breaking if i cant conceive.
If any more details are required, please ask.

Thank you so much!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
any other medical history and any medication did you try ???

I already listed my relevant medical history and medications that Ive had.

For PCOS I have only used the Pill and glucophage but neither helped so I am not currently taking anything.

Please can someone make any suggestions about remedy?

Thanks

Polycystic ovarian disease symptoms:
-Decreased frequency of periods since last 13 years, especially over the last 1 year (only once in last 6 months)

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

I feel depressed, frustrated, helpless, and dejected because of my symptoms. I feel very upset at the thought that I am not ovulating and might not be able to get pregnant as I very much want to have children.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Describe the sensation in your own words.
Sometimes I get very depressed, tearful and irritable. Physically, I feel fat, flabby, tired and lack of energy with no will to do anything.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

Answered above

Feel better in cool but not cool weather than hot. Dry better than humid.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

Sensitive nature, very loving and caring, but very impatient and short-tempered sometimes. Less social and friendly than before, dont meet friends anymore, only happy with husband and close family.
Tend to worry more, get very moody, and sometimes very tearful and anxious, even a bit paranoid, for no apparent reason. I feel someone is behind me while Im working in the kitchen. More fearful than I used to be, sudden noises, shadows or sights make me jump or scream with fright.
Other times, I get very happy and excited, again for no apparent reason.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?

Dont like thundestorms, feel scared.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?

Definitely, need someone to comfort and reassure me.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?

Very sensitive to smell, can detect a smell from far away and cant tolerate bad smells.
Also sensitive to sound and light, cant tolerate very loud sounds or strong lights.

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
Weeping, talking to one self etc?

I tend to scratch my scalp alot where there are areas of dryness, and make small wounds which I keep picking. I usually always pick scabs or wounds before they are completely healed.
Used to bite finger nails till the age of 15, then stopped.

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?

My father died of colon cancer 6 months ago, and I was very close to him and miss him alot. During his time of illness, I was busy looking after him and escaped from meeting my friends. Am not that close to friends anymore. I am most comfortable and happy with my husband, whom I love and share everything with. My relationship with mother is good but I tend to get impatient and irritated sometimes with her leading to a strained relationship at times. Not close to many people the way I used to be when I was younger. Had a couple of very close friends during school but it ended badly and I was very hurt after those relationships ended.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?

I have a fear of someone watching me or looking at me, or surprising or attacking me suddenly.
I dont have any recurring dreams.
I also fear I wont be able to have a family, and might not be successful in my career.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?

I crave sweet things, especially chocolate, and this is most after completing a meal of spicy food and carbohydrates.
I also crave potato sometimes.
I dont really have any aversions to food, although I dislike bitter foods.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?

I drink very little water, so sometimes I get very thirsty suddenly but then I have a glass of water and am fine.

14. How is your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?

Normal but I think about food alot i.e. what to cook for the next meal, what will I eat, etc

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?

I can eat everything, but recently I feel after eating bread, I feel more crampy and gassy than otherwise. Red watermelon makes me get severe bloating n cramps.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?

Normal, I sweat more from head and trunk than limbs.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?

I used to have constipation often, but since 6 months I am careful about diet with enough fibre so I get a loose type of bowel movement every morning, though sometimes in the evening as well when I feel bloated and crampy. At these times, I need to strain alot as I feel incomplete evacuation of bowels.

18. How well do you sleep?
Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?

I have difficulty falling asleep immediately, and need to keep shifting positions before falling asleep. Also keep waking in the middle. I prefer to sleep on my tummy, with one leg straight and other one bent at the hip and knee. However, I get a stiff neck sometimes after sleeping in anwkward positions.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?

Yes

20. Do you have any strange, peculiar or unusual symptom or feelings? How are you different from others?

Explained above. As compared to others, I feel I am more sensitive, ambitious, intelligent and set very high standards for myself which I am afraid i wont be able to achieve.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?

I have taken the Pill for six months twice, once when I was 17 years, and once about a year ago.
I also tried glucophage (metformin) for 3 months, about 4-5 months ago, but this gave me very bad nausea and food aversion, and I stopped taking it.
About 8 years ago had some homeopathic medication for itching on palms and soles of feet and also for anal fissure.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?

My father died of colon cancer 6 months ago. Also have diabetes, hypertension and breast cancer history in both sides.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.

I am tallish (5'6') and look a bit overweight but not that fat. (74 kg) Although my trunk is flabby, but my arms and legs especially below ankles and knees are thin. I have broad hips, and large breasts. My face is longish, skin is oily in places and dry in others. Very dry scalp, although used to be oily before.
Weak eyesight since 7 years of age.

(For Females)
24. If your menstrual cycles are not normal, please describe the irregularities, like pains, moods, flow type, clots etc.

I sometimes get pain in legs, and tenderness of breasts before getting my period. Also, very irritable, irrational and tearful. However, these mood changes also occur even when not followed by periods.
Over the last 13 years, there have been times when the periods occur every month (but never more than for 2-3 months at a time) and then become more irregular again, like once every 2-3 months. I have noticed that whenever I lose weight, they become more regular.
Average flow is for 7 days, with first 3 days only slight spotting of brownish or pinkish colour, then on 4th or 5th day very heavy flow of red colour with lots of dark clots, and then less flow over next 2 or 3 days, then end of period.
Last month, I got spotting for 2-3 days as usual at the beginning of period, but this was not followed by a normal blood flow and the spotting stopped.

25. What major diseases have you had in your life and when. Please write them in a chronological manner.

As a baby, I used to be ill very often with cough and cold.
Age of 5, started getting dermatitis on my palms, very severe at times.
13 years, got fever of unknown cause for 2 months.
Age 14, severe chicken pox.
Age 15, irregular periods started. PCOS diagnosed age 17.
Age 19, anal fissure developed.
Age 21, severe blistering and itching on soles of feet, probably following new leather-soled shoes.
Age 24- episode of red fresh bleeding from rectum without any pain, unassociated with constipation.

I cant think of anything else that is significant, apart from sporadic headaches, tummy aches, stiff neck, etc

I hope these are enough details, if not please ask whatever else you require and please suggest some remedy.

Thank you so much for your time and help.

please take 2 doses of LACHESIS 200C within 15 minutes to 30 minutes on a single morning in empty stomach.

take the doses first thing in the morning after waking.

go back to sleep after taking the remedy.

dont take any food for the next 90 minutes.

if you get some relief, your next dose will be only after about three weeks.

rishimba last decade
Thank you for your reply. Is this remedy specifically for the PCOS symptoms or all of them?

When you say 'if I get relief', what exactly should I expect? Will one dose be able to help with weight loss? I thought I would require prolonged treatment over some weeks for my chronic problems, but i am willing to try anything.

Thank you, I will order the medication today.

samah75 last decade
I am wondering if Pulsatilla 30C can be of help for me? As I have already got them at home for my husband (he took them for sinusitis) as I would like to start treatment as soon as possible and will have to wait for Lachesis to be delivered by post through website purchase. The ones I have at home are in pellet form. If this is a suitable treatment, please let me know how many of these pellets I should take, how often and for how long?

Any responses will be greatly appreciated soon.

samah75 last decade
please dont take any other remedy.

just take LACHESIS 200C as i have suggested.

your symptoms are very close to lach and thus it would definitely help.

within 10 days of taking the remedy dose you can expect one or more of the following;

- feeling of well being

- you may get rid of the typical mental symptoms and delusions you have.

- sleep would be better and uninterrupted.

- less of bloating in abdomen

- reduced constipation

- relief from fissures

- onset of normal periods

once you know that lachesis is giving you relief, you need to repeat it whenever you feel that the symptoms are coming back.

take a few doses of 200c at 2 to 3 weeks interval and when you see that this potency has done its job, you can go to 1M and take it once a month.

i feel in a few months, all your problems would be cured.

rishimba last decade
if it helps you, the PCOS will also get cured.

you can go for an ultrasound test after 2 months and you may see some improvements. lach covers PCOS very well.

rishimba last decade
Thank you so much.

Just to clarify I have understood correctly, I should take 2 doses of LACHESIS 200C within 15 minutes to 30 minutes of each other, on a single morning on an empty stomach. I should take doses first thing in the morning after waking, and go back to sleep after taking the remedy without taking any food for the next 90 minutes.

Then I should hope and expect some relief in any form you described in the next 10 days. If this is so, then I should once again take Lachesis the same way as described, after 2-3 weeks.

Please make sure I have understood correctly, and also, please specify wet or dry dose of LAch200C and how much is one dose?

Thank you so much for your help

samah75 last decade
yes, you have understood correctly.

one dose is typically be 3 to 4 drops in some 20 ml of water.

sip the water slowly and allow absorption in your mouth inner linings.

rishimba last decade
One more question, should i buy the one in 30% alcohol or 95% alcohol? As I am ordering for it online, these are the options in wet form to choose from.

Please reply soon so i can order immediately.

Thanks so much.

I have started the medication today, taken 2 doses this morning as specified above. After waking up from sleep, I felt alot of neck stiffness (this occurred some days earlier as well after waking up, and stayed for a couple of days then got better)and after a couple of hours awake, was sitting on the sofa and then was doing usual house work when my back suddenly got very painful and stiff like it was caught. Have been trying to walk and exercise a bit to work out the painful kink in lower back, but it is still very painful. Can this be related to taking lachesis this morning or is it completely coincidental? Also, can I take an allopathic pain killer like paracetamol or ibuprofen or will this interfere with the effect of homeopathic medication? please reply soon, as i am in alot of pain.
thank you.

samah75 last decade
its a pure coincidence..

please take a mild pain killer if you cannot do otherwise.

rishimba last decade
i will try with an analgesic cream first and hope that will give some relief.
hoping to give some positive reports soon over next few days.
thank u so much.

Hi, Ive had to take paracetamol and brufen a few times since yesterday because my backache was very severe and not improving any other way.
Am just wondering, would the action of the Lachesis dose I had yesterday morning be affected/negated in any way because of these, and if so, do I need to have another dose? You mentioned I can take mild painkillers, but not sure if these would be included?
So far, no improvement in any pre-existing symptoms.
Thanks

samah75 last decade
Hi Dr Rishimba,

Today is the 9th day after taking the medication, and so far Ive not noticed any improvement in any symptoms.
My mental attitude and mood improved after a few days of taking the dose, but then i became sad and depressed once again and this pattern is normal for me even without medication.

Do I need to take another dose? I feel my problems are so deep-rooted that a single dose or 2 might not be able to help, but you know better.

Please advise me, am really desperate.

Thank you

samah75 last decade
please take a dose of LACHESIS 1M and wait for at least a week before taking another dose.

Hi,
I just recently came across this forum. There is some great information.
I am a holistic health professional and a huge fan of homeopathy, although I do not practice it personally.
I would like to offer some additional thoughts (if that is okay?) on PCOS and eczema since these are two things I work with a lot.
PCOS is due to excess testosterone and blood sugar issues and there are some extremely effective nutritional protocols that can support the homeopathy.
It will be necessary to clear the excess testosterone, support the adrenal glands and get the blood sugar stable.
With eczema, I have seen 3 things to be incredibly effective:
1. Cleansing the liver (and body)
2. Healing the adrenal glands
3. Eliminating allergenic foods - the most common being wheat and dairy.
Also, you mentioned fats, and although the wrong kind of fats (processed, heated, transfats, hydrogenated fats) are not recommended, good fats like cold pressed flax oil, extra virgin coconut oil and high quality fish oil are very healing to eczema (and many other issues including hormonal).
For both a customized purification program would really do some amazing things, as this would help clear the liver. Liver congestion and toxicity are implicated in both these issues.
I would love to hear how things are going since starting the homeopathy, and whether or not you could use any additional support.

Healthy Blessings!

I have been reading this post and can identify with the original poster to about 90% of her symptoms of PCOS and eczema. I have recently been diagnosed and would liike to look into natural treatments for myself. The original post, I'd love to know if anything actually worked. To the health professional that posted about liver cleansing and adrenal healing, how do I go about doing that?? Thanks for any help, from a desperate and frustrated person.

chrisned123 last decade
To answer the previous post about how to cleanse the liver cleansing and adrenal healing, I feel it is important for me to as a holistic health professional to be able to do an evaluation/assessment as each person is unique. I want to respect the forum guidelines, which state to give information freely and not ask people to contact you, but also want to be sound in not giving generic advice that may be unsuitable or even harmful.
I do have a more general protocol I offer for PCOS, that can post in an additional post as I would need to scan and copy into the forum. Let me see about doing that to get you started. :)
And please know that there is absolutely hope and healing when you take a holistic approach of diet, lifestyle, specific & high-quality supplements, and the positive intention to heal.
Blessings
