Throat "doesn't feel right"

For the past 3 months or so I have been experiencing a feeling, that my throat just doesn’t feel right. Its hard to explain but I will try.
Im not sure what started this all for me. Im a pretty healthy person, 20yr old female, healthy weight, work out regularly, don’t smoke (although I am around second hand smoke from time to time), and don’t drink alcohol. The only bad habit I have is drinking caffeine (I had stopped drinking any form of caffeine for seven years, but started again recently).

I have allergies, which have been worse than normal this Spring. I have been experiencing cross reactions with certain fruits, which mimic certain pollens I am allergic to. I recently got a skin test done for allergies, the results were that I am allergic to every type of tree pollen, grass, and most molds. I have also experience pain in my ears and constricting of my throat when exposed to second hand cigarette smoke (which is a new reaction for me, second hand smoke hasn’t always affected me).
The swollen glands started after I had gone swimming a few time in a public pool, which I found out later hasn’t been drained in seven years and isn’t cleaned very well. (Although I don’t know if this is the cause of everything).
Also around the same time my throat troubles started I started having frequent ulcers in my mouth, and on the side of my tongue in the back of my mouth. With the ulcers, it seems that when I get one, it turns into many at the same time.
Also recently I have been having more headaches (brought on by not drinking caffeine), and sometimes migraines (regardless of caffeine intake).
For my throat I believe exercising helps it to feel better, especially when I had the swollen glands, exercise helped to relieve my symptoms well. And better than this, drinking water helped greatly.

At first my gland/lymph nodes felt swollen under my chin, upto my ears, and around my throat. I looked in my throat and noticed “enlarged circumvallate papillae” which is basically tasted buds on the very back of the tongue that have become enlarged. Also there was one blood vessel in the back of my throat on the right side that looked very inflamed, at first I thought it was a cut but my allergy doc confirmed it was actually a blood vessel. All this went on for 1 month, and by taking Phytolacca 9C from the advice of a friend, this went away after about 3 weeks or so.

It is now about a month since I stopped the Phytolacca, and those symptoms described above of the swollen glands and inflamed blood vessel hasn’t returned. Now I am just left with this feeling that my throat isn’t right (and also the circumvallate papillae are still enlarged). My throat feels somewhat constricted from time to time, and on some occasions it feels as if my breathing is obstructed to a slight degree. Although eating, drinking, and swallowing isn’t a problem in any way. And I want to be sure to tell that there isn’t any throat pain, just annoyance and a discomforting feeling with the way it feels.

Here’s a condition that I started experiencing recently. The interesting part is that I did some searching online and I found many medical forums where other people seem to be describing the exact same condition. This is what lead me to post on the homeopathy forum, is that so many people are complaining of the same symptoms and are going to doctors and getting no explanations or answers. Most people say they have been living with the symptoms any where from 1-3yrs with no improvement or answers. Most people experiencing this say they have allergies, but don’t think its related (I don’t know if allergies are related to this or not). Most also say they have gone to ENT doctors, who say their throat looks fine. Since this condition has just started a few months ago with me, and since so many others have the same thing I wanted to look on here for any advice or answers which I may be able to provide to others.

I really hope I can find some answers at last to this condition, or possibly a complete cure
Thank you to anyone who replies.

I will try to answer questions as best I can. Feel free to ask more questions if any answers were incomplete or weren't helpful

Patient ID: Sex: Female Age: 20

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
The feeling in my throat of being “not right” Its hard to explain, it just feels more closed in than is normal. Sometimes I feel as if I can’t catch my breath because of my throat being more closed.
At first I had this along with pain extending to my ears, and swollen glands under my chin (the pain and swollen glands were relieved by taking Phytolacca)

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
Recurring ulcers in my mouth.
Allergies (but I’ve come to accept allergies as my normal condition)
Sometimes I have dry skin around my eyes and/or mouth.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Fear that it could be cancer, since I haven’t felt anything like this before
With the dryness around my eyes, I feel embarrassed and self-conscious

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
Like my throat is very closed up (but it doesn’t exactly feel as if its swollen), with pain extending into my ears.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
A lot of things that may have cause it all happened at the same time, so Im unsure if all or one was the cause.
It started after:
Swimming in a very dirty pool, which hasn’t been cleaned properly in years.
Moving; I was living with a friend who has cats (to which I am allergic), in a house (which could have mold problems, since it was recently flooded).
Possibly stress (for a while I was moving around from place to place, until finally settling in where I am now. Staying with another friend in a clean and cat free home).

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Morning. In addition to how it normally feels, in the morning my throat is very dry and burns. (I breathe through my mouth).

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
Cigarrette smoke aggravates, being around pets aggravates.
Water, and getting exercise relieves the condition. Also I have gone swimming a couple times in a river at a ranch resort, and the first time doing so seemed to be very relieving (don’t know how or why though).

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
It could be from change of place. For a month, I didn’t really have a home, and was jumping around from place to place. Also during this time I was very short one money, and was trying to work out having a full time job while taking summer course for college. (This is all settled now).

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I haven’t noticed a change with weather. I live in Texas which has very hot weather now during the summer.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.

Not at all easily offended, and don’t like to argue.
Not normally quiet, I talk a lot (only quiet when Im upset)
Pretty mild and agreeable to almost anything. Very easy going.
Not lazy at all, I am very organized and work a lot. I don’t like being bored and having nothing to do.
I tend to over think situations and decisions.
I try to find the best in all situations.
I don’t get along with lazy, messy, and inconsiderate people.
When those around me are upset, I try my best to cheer them up and I don’t like seeing them to be upset.
I am often very moody right before mensus.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
I feel fine. I like the rain, but not the noise of thunder.
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
Yes
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
Not really (only the smell of cigarette smoke)
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
No
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
I do not a good relationship with my parents. I don’t like being around them, especially my mother who is the exact opposite of the kind of person I am. And when I am around them, I am very easily agitated.
I like my brother, but don’t see him often due to him living far away.
I am a former gymnast, and consider my teammates and coaches to be my closest family. I love my coaches, and think of my teammates as sisters. I miss them very much if I haven’t seen them recently.
I also consider my friends to be some of the closest people to me. I love my friends. Although if am stressed, I like time to myself. If I am in a good mood I love being around people.
I am not married, but have a boyfriend. I love my boyfriend, get along with him well, and will do anything to make him happy. I am happiest when spending time with my boyfriend.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
Fear of heights and extreme fear of flying.
I don’t fear, but worry about getting bad grades on exams or in classes (even though I am a 4.0 student).
I get nervous and agitated if something keeps me from studying.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I crave sweet. Love any type of breakfast food. I like snacking more than having large meals. Love coffee. Love Thai food. There are a lot of foods I like.
I often eat healthy diet, since I want to maintain a certain weight.
I eat a vegetarian diet (my reason for this is that I don’t support animals being killed for food, although I don’t have a problem with others eating meat).
I don’t crave meat. I don’t like to eat greasy foods, they are not appealing.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
Less thirst. Rarely have a thirst for water, unless after exercising. I normally have a thirst for sweeter drinks, such as juice, soda, or sweetened coffee.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
I think its normal.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
Chocolate. I get fatigued, and feel as if I have the flu the day after I eat chocolate.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
I hardly ever sweat. Only sweat if I am exercising outside in hot weather.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
Normal

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I can go to sleep anywhere. No problems with sleeping. I like sleeping.
Normally on my right side, although I never wake up in the same position as I went to sleep in.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
Yes for the most part.

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body?
Just the strange sensation in my throat.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
Singulair for allergies.
I take have taken Silicea as a remedy for my whole self. (I forget what term they gave to remedies that describe the whole person)
A few days ago, after taking Silicea, I soon developed a migraine (although I that may not be connected)
Phytolacca for the throat pain extending into ears, and swollen glands

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
No major diseases. High cholesterol. Mom had thyroid cancer.
