Attn: Dr. Sameer, Is it silica ?
My husband is 41 yrs old. He has had acne during youth, deep scars of which still remain. Ever since I can remember he has recurrent boils (big ones) specially in the arm pits and groin, for which he'll have to take antibiotics to clear. Eating too many eggs always lead to a new eruption. its one at a time. His head is oily and he has started balding since 6-7 yrs. legs (shanks splly)are extremely dry. he has no other complaints other than flatus and too many stools. I believe it's more of a mental prob, since he goes to the loo only while at home. he is constipated i guess and feels that there is still more to come. so to go somewhere he has to start prep couple of hours before hand. he'll have tea after tea (strong ones) to push the stools out and leaves only after he is satisfactory. you know how much this upsets and wastes our time. he is a serious person, v tall and well built, athletic and very reserved so to say and strict with children. he draws the line and they are thrashed if they cross the line. his father was also a strict disciplinarian. may be such an upbringing has made him believe that thats the only right way to bring up disciplined kids. he is a very responsible parent and husband and a typical mamma's boy, very loving and attached to his mom. not very close to anyone else other than us. very sedentary kind. claims to have no fear at all. prefers cold temps, though can tolerate all temps easily. has a big reddish brown birthmark on the thigh above the knee and a kind of wart like growth (of the size of a big coin) without a stem,on the thigh near the pvt parts. suffers bad breath while sleeping splly and loves strong tea, which is drunk while very hot. loves sweets. craves for very chilled drinks at times and loves all non-veg food. doesn't touch/ hates sour or bitter food and avoids spicy (hot) food as his anal region burns while passing stools. he is a smoker, can't seem to be able to quit.hope i have given a fair picture. pls feel free to ask anything more.

Hmm.. I do not think this is Silicea.
I see a dominant syphilitic miasm, and this state, athough theoretically possible, is very rare in Silicea.
Given a history of tobacco abuse, and strong tea drinking habit, I would recommend starting with 2 doses of Nux Vomica 200c spaced by 6 hours, and then wait for 2 weeks.
Come back after this, and we can start working on his constitution then.

he had taken nux vomica 200c on the 14th. Doesn't acknowledge any difference..
will definitely keep probing and will let you know the progress by the end of 2 weeks.
Had been reading the constitution types and I strongly feel that he is very much the same as nat mur. its key notes such as introvert, hides feelings, avoids company, hates sympathy, cannot cry, cannot show affection.. is exactly how one could describe him.
Would you please confirm doc, so that we might not have to waste a lot of time later.

I do not think it is Natrum Mur, as he seems to be a dominating person which Natrum Mur people are not.
And, Natrum Mur is not so strict with children, Nat-m can be protective but not strict disciplinarian.

It's 11 days since he took the nux vomica 200c. Can we start working on the next remedy. I dont see any changes in his smoking or tea drinking, but for the first time in life, he discussed about some work tensions with me today. Normally he keeps everything to himself. None of the tensions are shared. Even if i ask, he'll counter by saying, 'as if you can sort everything by sitting here!'
does this have anything to do with the nux? apart from this i do not see any changes nor does he acknowledge any change.
for that matter, neither do i know whether some changes are to be expected. was this some kind of a pre-medication becoz of his addictions??

This is a very positive change, the cure always starts at the mental level.
Tell me about this, can he forgive people easily, or is he like, he will not talk to person ever again if he/she offended him ?

He doesn't forgive people easily. Though it is not that he'll never talk to them ever, it is always in the mind.
I didn't know the answer to this question and so I asked him and he gave me a very quick and prompt answer. That is also very unlike him. Normally he doesn't show/ express his feelings at all and I am left to arrive at my own conclusions.
Also for your info, he is a very static kind... resists change. A typical taurean (bull). Doesn't even think of changing jobs, houses, cars etc; hinted a change of job as well yesterday (?)

A: YES, very much. Emotions are very rarely expressed.

Not that he is a bad man, but
he can tell lies easily.
Many a times, when he answers, we are unable to disitinguish if it was a truth or a lie. and he enjoys leaving it at that. would never add anything to it or say it was the truth or not.. questioning again will only elicit the same answer and he'll be laughing , pleased at seeing our puzzled expressions.
he is not very rigid in terms of breaking rules, if need arises he'll break the rule without much hazzles.

I really hope this is the right remedy for him and the lyco profile matches him more or less. I will definitely let you know the progress in 5 days.

1) Since he drinks tea, will it antidote the medicine ?
(I have no clue as to how I can handle this issue, becoz he may not be able to avoid tea)
2) What are the changes to be expected and what should I look for?
3) He generally wears a whole load of perfume on him. Will this effect ?
4) What about mouthwashes and cigarettes ?

Well all these things do interefere with the remedy, try to keep each thing to a minimum, especially NO perfumes.

It's a wk since he had lyco now and he says he can't feel any difference.
He did not use perfume and had minimum tea and cigarettes that day, as you had advised.
May be there is a small reduction in flatulence, he feels.

Hepar Sulph is a multi-miasmatic medicine and hence has the capability to cure nearly every illness when well indicated.

Sorry for the delay in getting back. Could give Hepar sulph only on the 18th as he had to go for a short overseas trip.
He doesn't report any change at all. But I could see that he was very moody and sullen through the last full week and was very cross with me for no apparent reason. Wouldn't talk at all except for monosyllables and heard that he had an argument in office too.
Mood is normal now since couple of days and a big pimple like boil is there on the thigh (mid way).
His mother has innumerable skin tags (big ones like warts) on the neck and she says her father had bigger ones all over the neck. His mom is also prone to big boils like this off and on, which suppurates and erupts with a lot of pain.Hope this info might help.

hey just a small suggestion, I believe for constipation most homeopaths recommend drinking one litre of lukewarm water in the morning upon rising followed by lukewarm water for rest of the day.
I also think homeopathy treatment would mean abstain from tea and coffee.

Dear doctor,
Gave Calc carb 200c two weeks back. No changes yet again. He has almost lost faith that homeopathy can do any good.
What are your suggestions ?
He has a new boil on his lower leg, much below the knee. This is the first time I think he is getting it outside the usual moist spots (arm pit and thighs/ groin).
