18 month toddler has excessive thirst

My 18 month old son has polydipsia and our homeopathic doctor prescribed phosphorus CH200, which I administered a month ago. His thirst has subsided a little bit following that but has comeback. He drinks nearly 3 litres of water a day and I change his diaper every two hours because he urinates so much.

My question is, do I give him another dose of phosphorus at this time, and if so, how it is best given? The pediatrician is not available at this time.

Thank you in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If the thirst has returned with the SAME intesity, Phos does not look like the correct remedy. And, anyways once his body has reacted to the 200c potency fully which must have happened in the last one month, it is NOT to be repeated.

I would wait for the homeopath, and not self prescribe. He is in the best position to make the next prescription.

Thankyou so much for your response. I shall try to call her again tomorrow.
I was worried that perhaps the first time I gave it to him, I had done so incorrectly by emptying the whole capsule onto his tongue on a full stomach and have since read it most effective on an empty stomach and perhaps diluted in water and given in several doses?

I am quite new to this!

Thanks again.

If the dose was given atleast 30 mins after eating , it was ok.

But in future, remember that just 2 pellets are enough. You do not need the whole bottle.

It was actually a gel capsule filled with powder that I twisted open and emptied onto his tongue, not a bottle. That is the form it comes in here (Greece). His doctor had told me to either disolve it in a teaspoon of water or give directly onto the tongue.

Thanks again for your help!

Hello again,

I just spoke with baby's pediatrician and she said to go ahead and give him another dose of phos 200 (on an empty stomach this time).

If there is no change in 2-3 days, to take him for another urine test in addition to a blood test. She also recommended that I change bottles in case part of the problem is a fixation with his sippy cup.

Does this sound right? I know sameevermani said not to repeat the phos if the first dose didn't work, but might it not have worked because I gave it to him on a full stomach?

I really apreciate your insight. Also, can I give it the way I have been giving him homeopathic medicine, by emptying the capsule of powder onto his tongue? He is a good patient this way and readily opens his mouth.

He is 18 months old and his last dose of phos was in mid July.

If it is JUST the second dose in total , it CAN be tried ONLY if you feel you did not give the first dose correctly.

And, full stomach is ok as long as you gave it 25 mins after eating.

Personally, I would not repeat a 200c after such a long duration, as whatever was to be achieved through this potency (and possibly the remedy) has already been achieved.

Regarding the choice of Phos., since the homeopath can see the child in person, he is the best judge (or he should be !!) for the choice of the remedy.
