The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Would anyone be willing to help?

Hello, I know that I need some help but am unwilling to visit a homeopath as I have never been comfortable talking about myself, in depth, to others.
I realise that I am an emotional over-eater and would very much like some help with this. I have been a carer for my child for 3yrs and have put on 2 stone in that time—mostly because I reach for comfort food when we have had an emotionally exhausting period.

Do you think homeopathy may help?

Thank you

Dear rishimba, thank you very much. I have tried to be as honest as possible. I hope don't sound too self-pitying!

Patient ID: Sex: Age:

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
i am unhappy with how i look. i feel lesser than other people. When I feel fat I don't want to leave the house or speak to others. I feel like I have no control over my own life. I feel worn down by everything and that I have little reserves left to cope. My mind is so stressed, and never gets any down time, that I now find it almost impossible to focus fully on one task. I forget words half-way through conversations and can take many seconds to remember them—all stress related I feel.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
migraines/backache in lower back since childbirth (I cannot put any strain on that area or it results in being unable to walk properly for several days)

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
i am frustrated that my back stops me being able to exercise properly. I feel trapped in the house and have excess energy that I cannot burn off.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
I feel like everyone is looking at me and thinking I look awful. I feel resentful that I have to shoulder all the concern over child's health and daily well-being. I feel trapped.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
I have always felt that I don't fit in. I never knew my father and my mother was extremely unmaternal—she never liked me, she was and is very selfish and only concerned with how everything effects her.
I always felt as though I had to stay 'under everyone's radar' to be able to (for example) live at home or at someone else's house. I always feel like I have to keep everyone happy.
I very much looked after myself and did everything for myself. Very much a free spirit. I never valued possessions or worried if I lost them. I sometimes find it difficult to view myself as married with a child (which is what I am!)

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
Varies

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
PMT can aggravate as can weight gain; increased severity in child's symptoms aggravates most. Weight loss helps. My child feeling better helps.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
Periods can sometimes bring on the worst emotional stages (not liking myself/resentful)
I don't like spending too much time with others outside my immediate family: I find it too stifling (I am talking in days rather than hours).

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I like hot weather but only if it's not humid. I like most weather conditions apart from the type of weather where one moment it's hot and sunny and then it clouds over and everything is humid or it starts to rain.

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
I am restless, bored, worried, anxious, keep feeling like I can't relax as something bad is just about to happen (but if I actually stop and think 'why am I feeling this' then there's no reason for it),

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? I love all aspects of thunderstorms. They are probably, other than snow, my most favourite weather conditions.
- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? No
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? i hate sudden loud noises (other than thunder). I mean more like a toilet seat banging down or a saucepan lid hitting the floor.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? I do talk to myself a lot.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? I love my husband though sometimes I feel resentment to him because I feel he didn't shoulder any responsibility when our child was first born. I love and dislike my family (mother and brother) in equal measure: neither have helped me since my son was born and my brother was very jealous of the attention being taken off him and his children. He has not communicated with my son since he fell ill a few years ago. I get very angry at my family (though have not expressed that to them).

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
I fear being homeless. I fear something bad happening to my son or husband. I fear something bad happening to me that then means I leave my son alone.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
I love chocolate (though sometimes can go for days/weeks and not eat any). I love spicy foods. I love fresh fruit.
I dislike processed foods such as burgers, sausages, processed cakes & biscuits.
I rarely eat meat other than organic chicken. Some pork and beef.

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
My thirst is much less in the last few weeks.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
My hunger is currently excessive. It fluctuates.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
No.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
More. underarms

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
Less than normal for a number of weeks now. Very small stools and harder than usual.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
I sometimes have trouble getting to sleep and often wake regularly during the night.
I tend to sleep on my right hand side. I like to sleep on my back but if I do I wake with chronic backache the next morning.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
Ys

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body?
I get a very peculiar crawling sensation in my sping

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
Agnus Castus to treat pmt and severe heacy periods—works well initially

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
Cancer (I had TB as a young baby).

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance.
5'3
12stone
Many people tell me I am pretty
Short blond/brown hair
I like to be neat and tidy

also, incase it's relevant, I used to have Reflexology quite regularly and that helped a lot. I cannot do this presently because of son's health which means I do not get out often but it was mentioned by a few reflexologists that, due to my reactions, I could have 'adrenal burnout', I confess I'm not sure what that it!

me again. What I also wanted to mention is that I am generally a really upbeat positive person and that doesn't come across in my answers to the above questions. I am more likely to see the positive in a situation than a negative: and I have always been the type to 'take charge' and get things done. I like nothing better than laughing and dancing and music, but I just feel a little weighed down by life and the last few years.

Thank you for taking the time to help.
