Cat with digestive trouble

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a remedy for my smallest cat. She has been having diarrhea/loose stools for about a week. There has been minute amounts of fresh blood in her stool. This is accompanied by what seems to be digestive discomfort after every meal. Immediately after she eats (which is less than usual) she sits, curled up and looks uncomfortable (she scowls) for about 1-2 hours. She does not want to be patted when she is like this. She will let me palpate her abdomen and I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary, nor does she appear to be in pain when I do so. I have had some success with Arsenicum (200 K is all I have). She is a cat that has always preferred heat - she sleeps on an amplifier, and refuses to go outside as soon as the weather gets cool. She usually wants as much attention and affection as she can squeeze out of us, but since she has not been well, she sits alone much more often.

any suggestions are greatly welcomed!

thanks,

Sarah

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What type of cat litter do you use? Clumping type are a real threat. What type of food do you feed? Try nux 30c, three time a day two days. Crush, put in goats milk. No food half hour before or after. Could be developing IBS or worse. Suggest get full blood panel to rule out other fatal problems. Also, what recent vaccines, they could be making her sick. Cheryl

We use a wheat litter with no chemicals or clay. What's the deal with the clumping kind? We feed the cats a (pricey) human grade quality meat crunchies. She has never been vaccinated, none of the cats have been vaccinated in years (only one has ever been).

I just started her on Lycopodium and I think I'm already getting a result. I'll try the nux, and take her to the vet if she's not much better in 48hrs.

Thanks for the suggestion!
