Eczema on 5 y.o. - Dr Tahira, pls help?

Hi Dr Tahira (or anyone),

You helped me in the past with my kid's problem. I hope you can help me now. His skin condition is getting bad.

Problem: Itchy eczema on backside and legs. Hives frequently occurring on different parts of the body esp. torso.

Allergies: dairy - non-stop wet coughing, wheezing, hives

Eczema worse when: in bed, hot weather, wearing tight clothing / socks / underwear. Eczema is dry, red and raised. He scratched his skin til it bled.

Hives worse when: in bed, hot dry weather, oily foods. This summer was bad - he had hives on his body, front and back and on the arms too. Hives are red and raised. He would scratch till they become bluish / grayish, almost the color of bruising. Sometimes the hives have no color, sometimes red.

Letting him bathe in cool / lukewarm water helps in both eczema and hives.

Physical: short, slim, fair skin, thin hair. Looks like a baby even though he is 5 y.o.

Mind: Competitive with his brother. Wants to be first and gets upset if he 'loses'. Cries at slightest injury by other people. Eg. cries when someone accidentally steps on his foot. However, if he runs and falls down, he won't cry.

When he's crying, he wants to be held.

If someone is hurt, he'll be curious about that person and asks lots of questions.

Loves affection and attention. Will sit close to me and play with my hair.

Very mischievous. Likes praises.

Before sleeping, likes to play with mommy's hair. Sleeps on his belly. Gets stuffy nose so I must open the windows.

Gets runny nose in cold weather or cold wind.

Does not like fatty foods. He can detect fatty skin on a piece of meat and spit it out. Likes sweet, salty and slightly sourish (eg. strawberry).

Hi!
My son started getting mild eczema when he was just months old.

When he was about 1 year old I started regularly giving him Three-Lac internally and I also used Calendula externally. His eczema has been almost completely reversed except on his chin.

The only reason we gave him Three Lac is because he had Thrush when he was a baby and it cleared it up but then later he started manifesting eczema.

Thank you for responding, Dr Tahira.

He does NOT feel better after scratching. He will keep on scratching and complaining.

No, the itch doesn't transfer to another place. It's always the same places - backside, legs.

I asked him if it feels like burning, he said yes. I ask him where and he said everywhere. He's 5 so I'm not sure if the answer is reliable.

No, he didn't have jaundice. He used to get severe croup and had to have steroids (oral / injection). He had scarlet fever one time and had to take antibiotics but became allergic to it (broke out in hives on backside and lower). He had eczema since a few weeks old. Not vaccinated except for 1 shot of polio but had high fever after that. I gave him cow's milk after one but noticed he started breaking out in hives so I stopped. Since then, the hives never went away.

He's 5 years old.

His thirst is slightly less than normal. He will drink when he's eating or after exertion.

Stool - will have bits and pieces of vegie in there if he eats leafy vegie. Soft stool if lots of fiber. Hard stool if little fiber.

Urine yellow. Sometimes his urine is real yellow and cloudy.

I gave him Apis 30C once a few days ago and the hives condition improved but there's still a little (incidentally, the weather also improved). He fell down on his head on the hard ground and I gave him arnica 1M (the only one I had on hand). I am not sure what to do at this point.

Also want to add that he also gets quite itchy on his underarms.

Give him nux 30c twice daily morn/even for three days and carefully note if it brings any change in his condition. There is no hard and fast rule for change it might be in urine, stool or in his mood etc.
im trying to treat the cause.plz keep posting.
Also increase fruit, fresh juices and fiber in his food.
