Is breath holding spell a symptom of epilepsy

Dear friends, please clarify if breath holding spell a symptom of epilepsy?

My son aged 16 months frequently gets into this trauma of breath holding spell after crying. This usually happens if he does not get what he wants and then he gets into this traumatic spell, his lips turn pale bluish in color, he remains still, there is no apparent movement of the body and then he recovers on his own.

The allopathic doctor here has advised us to SEE THAT HE DOES NOT CRY. After three such frequent spells, he has advised us to have a EEG done.

Awating your replies!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
My 6 month old daughter has seizures, and she often has a period of breath holding. During this time her whole body is rigid. If I try to move her limbs they are extremely stiff.
