Did I get his constitution right?

Mentals:
Sorted in order of what I think is predominent:

1. extremely friendly. Always has a smile and laughs a lot.
2. Everyone is his friend. Irrespective of whether he knows you or not, he will run towards you
3. Very mercurial temperature - irritated very easily if he is not entertained. Will scream and howl but can be easily brought to giggles of laughter the moment you play with him
4. When irritated, he can be very stubborn. It is very simple to make him happy again - you need to play with him - run around etc

5. Everybody says he has a 'pristine heart' - I think that is a good summary. Some kids you just know are completely transparent and will never deceive you. He is on of them.

6. Attention does not stay at one place - keeps moving from place to place
5. Very very active child

Physicals:
1. Very good looking kid, fine features, long eyelashes, expressive eyes
2. Thinnish kid (23lbs at 1.8yrs), male
3. Age: 2 yrs

Any conditions:
1. Milk allergies/eczema

I feel very strongly that Phosphorous is his constitutional medicine.

Food prefs:
Loves crispy stuff.
Does not like to eat soft stuff (like grapes, etc)

Reasons:
Phos from a totality is for those who have no borders - he is very very much like this. Phos also covers his basic physical features as well as eczema.

Actually his eczema was not at birth. We feel he got it after the first or 2nd Vacc.

Anyway, he is under treatment by a doctor who has administered Thuja to him (in a very un-homeopathic way) - but anyway, I must say pseudo or not, his eczema is almost 80% better under his treatment, so I don't want to disrupt that.

But I want to find his constitutional remedy and I feel it is Phos. What do you feel?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
What do you think?

For ill effects of impure vaccination...there are two meds most commonly used in homeopathy:

Thuja and

Silicea

It appears the homeopath has made a correct choice....also shown by the result.

If the child is stubbourn...may be Silicea is indicated too. Silicea patients experience un-usual chilly feeling in the body. Also have tendency to pus formation.

More symptoms of Silicea to look for:

-white spots on the nails,
-sweat on head whereas body is dry

Silicea child: feet are smelly, nails can be deformed.

Thanks Pankaj.

You hit the nail on the head. The homeopath I am working with now prescribed Thuja. I know many in this forum will howl murder, but his prescription was thuja 1M for a month (this was after a 1 hr consultation in complete detail). Interestingly, when I got this prescription, I tried with only one dose (1M I thought was still to high). I waited for a month. NOTHING. So then I just thought I should trust the person I am with and started a daily dose. It started working miracles in a week.

I am familiar with the principles that classical homeopathy suggests, but I think this is one example of 'practice is better than theory'. Of course, I am stating this as a 'matter of fact'. I well know this is not something that can be argued about. What works works, for a particular patient.

But anyway, that aside, I wanted to see if I can match his constitution.

Based on his description, doesn't it seem Phos is his overall constitution ?

Run his symptoms on the ABC Remedyfinder software. Try to give as many symptoms as possible. Pick up the top three meds thrown out as answer by the software along with percentage of the possibility.

Post the result here, will analyse.

I would go with Phos certainly.

what potency are you giving him a daily dose of Thuja?

what are the changes after the daily dose?

The Remedy Finder software is very analytical. It can also indicate the presence or otherwise of miasm(s) to a person who has honed his homeopathic skills.

The working of Thuja on your child's constituiton indicates the presence of a miasm in the system.

Pankaj: I feel this software mostly matches remedy coverages, does not seem to do a totality or 'essence' match. Therefore I find it useful for acute cases mostly. Furthermore, depending on how you compose your phrase, it suggests different remedies.

Gumby: the potency is 1M. I first administered one dose and waited for a month. there was no change. Then, after a month, I started giving him a daily dose.
Before I administered: His legs, arm folds, wrists and back of neck were his favorite scratch points. Scratch till red/bleeding and often black.

By week 1 - he stopped scratching his wrists. Still black due to scratching earlier.
By week 2 - wrists started healing - now they are back to brown (he sometimes scratches, but not much).
By week 3 - scratching improved to atleast 80%. nowadays, he only scratches his leg folds.

Winters are typically worst for him. He seems to be doing just great this winter.

Mentals - no change. I wasn't expecting much. I believe homeopathy can correct what is wrong. Not correct what is natural to a person . To that respect, his stubborn-ness and irritability runs in my family ;-)

I haven't tried his allergy reaction yet. I don't want to give him milk (a little) before he turns two.

Interesting post !

Firstly, the choice of Thuja given the presentation is very strange to say the least.

Secondly, Thuja is one of the deepest acting remedies of the materia medica, where indiscriminate use of it like the one above would cause a life long sycotic taint in the organism.

Thirdly, about your observation as to why the rashes went away with a daily dose of Thuja 1M, they did so, because for a dissimilar artificial(in this case Thuja) disease to modify the symptoms, the dissimilar disease needs to be chronic as well, and you made it chronic by bombarding your child with a daily dose. Now, the two dissimilar diseases have conjoined to form a complex disease. What is the essence of the miasm theory? It is that suppressing the primary symptoms and skin lesion leads to a host of life long chronic symptoms. That is what it is all about. Secondly, Hahnemann stated that the symptoms of these miasms reverse toward their original cause under homeopathic treatment. These ideas have proven quite accurate in the clinic over the last 180 years. I have myself over the course of my 10 years of practice observed many a spoilt cases by this kind of indiscriminate prescribing and these cases , where the natural and artificial diseases have joined forces are the hardest ones to treat.

Fourthly, there is nothing natural about stubbornness and irritability, and if it runs in the family, to me it is one of the indications of the strong tubercular taint in your child's case, which is also confirmed by the other symptoms and Thuja is not a tubercular remedy to start with.

I would advise a word of caution in what you are doing, because in curing his one sided disease (skin lesions), you might be instilling a life long latent sycotic miasm with pretty horrible tertiary and secondary symptoms.

Be careful in playing with remedies like Thuja, they are not meant to be taken lightly, as with great power to cure comes a great power to harm as well.

Thanks classical_hom. Your thoughts are sound and in-line with my readings of homeopathy. Are you new to this forum? This seems to be your first post. I look forward to your future posts - you seem to have good fundamental reasoning (like some a few others who post here).

However, I have made the decision to go with one person here. I spent too much time with folks who do not have experience in actually curing people (including myself). Of course, I am not referring to you. I think over the internet prescriptions are very hard because in-person consults are critical.

But anyway, I digress. I am fully aware this homeopath is digressing severely. I cannot (and do not want to)defend his actions besides seeing that they are really working and in this past few months, my child's mentals have not changed due to this treatment. Whether it changes deep into the future - who knows. No one can really say what happens 5 yrs from now is attributed to this.

My main question really was what do you think of my analysis of his constitution?
