The ABC Homeopathy Forum

in need of urgent help!!!

My cat, Fred, has the following symptoms:
difficulty walking, uncoordinated, head hung low, lays around more than normal, insatiabble thirst for water, in beginning he was very cold, but that seems to have ended for now. He got out of the house somehow 2 days ago and just came back home this morning. My first hunch is he got into some poison. His skin trigger is moderately slow. We live in the county and have our own well so chlorination and flouride are ruled out. If anyone can help please respond...

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If you suspect poisioning, try Ars.alb 200 three doses, morning, evening, morning.(or evening, morning, evening).I was told pellets work better for animals than liquids.

he could have been poisoned (then ars alb is best as Murthy said)
--but can you rule out some accident? head injuries are often hard to recognize but result in what you described (including chill after shock).

has he ever been vomiting?
his stool?urine?
thirst for water is great but appetite? ever tried to give him milk?

Has anyone thought of possible antifreeze poisoning?

Well it's a thought. I saw a cat that had this on the show Emergency Vets. They say the animal appears drunk, staggering and swaying. Then the next 24 hours they act fine. Then kidney signs begin if left untreated.

Arsenicum Album if animal seems restless, anxious, constantly changing positions. The other postings seem to be guiding your towards this remedy.

Nux Vomica if animal wants to be left alone, and seems hungover.

Try and get some chicken broth or goats milk into your cat via eyedropper in the mouth.

Bless your little one

Does he drink small quantities of water frequently, or large amounts at a time? What about appetite, like Astra asks. So far, Arg. Nit. seems indicated, but more info?

So Namaste also watches Animal Planet!

Antifreeze is a good possibility. What did they do to help?

The cat had gone more than 24 hours w/o treatment because the owners did not know it was antifreeze poisoning. Cat was worse, better and then its kidneys shut down so I believe they euthanized the animal. Had they known about homeopathy the animal may still be alive.

I believe in most cases with vets they induce vomiting and probably give them iv fluids and whatever other medications they choose.

I leave Animal Planet on all day for my four-legged angels and catch glimpses of shows here and there when time permits. I need to wake-up earlier to watch the Pet Psychic, Astra. I have only seen one of her shows. Very cool lady I must say. Her face reminds me of a tiger.

I watch pet psychic whenever I have a chance. I always understood animals (they have very sincere facial expressions! and body language-but I'm sure you know that)but what she does is wonderful.

Euthanasia always saddens me (I always believe that where is life there is hope)- maybe sometimes it's the best choice...

Actually euthanasia is nothing else but failure to cure -such a healing by killing!

We don't put people "to sleep" when they are ill or dying. Too each their own.

To all of you who have patiently been awaiting my update concerning Fred (my cat)... He died the following morning from the poisoning. He had been away from home for 2 days, and judging from the advanced symptoms of his ailment by the time he had returned home it was to late for any sort of intervention to keep him alive. Throughout that first night we had administered Willard Water, High Potency NONI, Oxydrops (electrolytes of oxygen), Cell Food (Dissolved oxygen, trace minerals, Plant source amino acids & enzymes), and Vitamin C. The good news is Fred was showing great improvement by morning. Unfortunately the poison had already done fatal damage to his nervous system and lungs which, according to our family vet (who primarily practices homeopathically), were beyond repair both homeopathically and conventionally. The important impact of this crisis was that homeopathic intervention, though too late in it's administration, had improved his condition and provided him with a comfortable exit from this world. He will be greatly missed. To all of you who replied to this crisis, we thank you for your wisdom and compassion...

Thank you Ryan for letting us know. Sad- but it's the way life goes...

I'm so glad he got homeopathic remedies before his leave - although they didn't cure I'm sure they bring painless peace.

Ryan,

Bless you and your little one. You lose a friend and you gain an angel. I have to say you really did do all you could and Fred knows that. Thank you for posting and I wish peace for the both of you.
