Hi Sameer, My teenage son has chronic eczema and wheezing - please assess

Dear Sameer,

My son is 13 years old and has chronic wheezng and skin issues which includes chaffing, dry skin and dandruff.

I would like to provide a brief history about my son's eczema and wheezing.

It started when he was a 2 weeks baby. He developed severe eczema. He used to have severe skin erruptions.

He was allergic to wheat, milk and peanuts. He was breast fed until 2. During breast feeding, if his mother consumed any dairy or wheat products, he use to develop rashes and also skin erruptions. As per doctor advice, we applied cortisone, strength ranging from .5 to 10. It was administered quite frequently on a daily basis. It used to clear up and and then reappear.Until age 5 we applied cortisone.

After five, his skin eruption frequency reduced, but wheezing took over. His wheezing out break is worse during spring and winter. It is severe during India visits. We currently reside around LA area (California).

Currently he has severe dandruff and his fingers has deep chaffing.

He is allergic to peanuts, sesame and mustard.

We would like to get your expert opinion on this from a holistic and homeopathic view.

Regards,
Chandra

Please describe his temperament, behavior, fears and level of affection he shows.

Also mention about his food cravings/aversions and temperature preferences.

Thanks Sameer for getting back.

Temperament - He is very easily irritable. When gets angry he rises his voice loud, but tears fill his eyes every time he gets angry.

Behaviour - He is quiet and he respects elders. He is straight forward (not polished). He is not enterprising or goes forward to make friends.

Fears - Height phobia, never likes roller coaster rides. Fears speed. Fast moving object underneath (like under bridge) makes him uncomfortable. Scared of dogs.

Even though he is affectionate, he does not outwardly show it. Never likes to get hugged.

He is smart, but he is on the lazy side. He procastinates a lot. He pushes doing things to the end of the schedule.

Cravings - Cheese based food, fried foods, sweets.

He is averse to garlic.

For consuming, he likes warm, hot and cold depending upon the food.

Weather wise, he like chilly so that he can lazily cuddle up himself.

Chandra

Okay, then, here is the prescription.

A total of 3 doses of Sulphur 30c to be given equally spaced by 30 minutes on a single day as described below.

Dissolve 2 pellets of Sulphur 30c in a 250 ml spring water bottle. You can shake it gently after they have dissolved.

A teaspoon from this bottle using a disposable spoon is 1 dose.

This is to be done for one day ONLY.

Let me know in 10 days after these 3 doses.

Please follow the restrictions below.

Restrictions:

1/. Nothing should enter the mouth for 40 minutes prior to, or after taking the remedy.
2/. Do not touch the tablets with your hands, tip them into the cap of the container they came in and then into the water .
3/. Avoid coffee, tea (including green), and other sources of caffeine such as some fizzy drinks and large amounts of chocolate, except where this would cause a drastic change in consumption
4/. Avoid wearing perfume/aftershave, or exposure to anything with a strong smell on the day and 3 days following the remedy administration. This includes any and all essential oils, and incense.
5/. Avoid the consumption of excessively spicey foods
6/. The use of medicinal herbs, either as 'teas' or supplements should be avoided during Homoeopathic treatment, as should the use of over the counter medication, unless this has been recommended by an MD.
7/. Nothing of a medicinal nature should be applied to the skin

Thanks Sameer. We have Sulphur 30c in our medicine cabinet and will give it tomorrow.

What should I look out for, so that I can prepare a report card which can help in going further to find the right constitutional remedy.

Hope I have not missed anything in my previous assessment that you had requested.

By any chance do you reside in the east coast?

Chandra

I would expect the skin eruptions to re-appear at some point of time during this treatment. The asthma has appeared due to suppression of skin eruptions.

If you have liquid Sulphur, you should use 2 drops instead of 2 pellets in the process above.

The first effect would be a decrease in irritability and procrastination and general feeling of happiness.

Sameer,
3 doses are anytime of the day or it has to be in the morning?

Early morning is better for Sulphur.

The medicine is to be given just for 1 day.

Hi Sameer,

It is been a week since my son has been administered sulphur. Our observations are:

- Irritation level reduced
- Dandruff increased
- He says he feels like smiling a lot.
- Morning dry cough with phlegm; night time only dry cough.

No other noticable changes.

By chance are you in the Bay Area?

Chandra

This was the perfect response to the dose. As I said, the first response to the correct medicine is a feeling of mental and emotional well being. Worsening of dandruff also points to the correct direction of cure as the disease is coming to outer levels.

We must now wait for 10 more days to let the dose work fully.

I would not like to give my exact location on a forum. You can contact me through e-mail if needed.

Thanks Sameer,

We will observe him for another 10 days and let you know his reaction.

Hi Sameer,

Now deep cuts on his fingers have started showing up, with a relative increase in dandruff.

Irritation has increased considerably in the past few days.

Chandra

hmm.. tell me how easily does he forgive ?

Ever seen any revenge seeking behavior ?

sameervermani last decade
Dear Sameer,

When we talked to him, in one on one conversation, he was mentioning about going 'tit for tat' when someone does anything to him at school.

Not a revenge per say, but certainly not forgiving.

Chandra
