The ABC Homeopathy Forum

5 yr old with eczema, molluscum, bedwetting

My 6 year old son has had molluscum for 3 years on his buttocks and thighs. They come and go, but the area is not clear even after using Thuja. He also has some itchy spots of eczema on his leg, arm and under one eye. He also wets the bed every night.
He was born with a heart defect--critical aortic stenosis-- and has had several surgeries. He is good health otherwise--very active, great appetite, and generally very happy. He's extremely shy around strangers, yet is outgoing in front of family members. He plays well independently and also in groups.
He has blond hair, blue eyes and medium complexion. He sleeps late in the morning and is usually difficult to awaken. He loves music, is sensitive to the feelings of others and craves approval from me and his father.
I would like some advice on the 3 symptoms listed above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please talk about his food cravings/aversions and temperature preferences.

Also, give more information about his mental symptoms, like his fears and what makes him feel better , and what aggravates him.

Give as much information as you can about any odd mental/physical traits you might have observed.

Food cravings--pasta, breads, pancakes, dairy, fruit; he's not very adverse to any foods. He eats a very well balanced diet--plenty of fruits and vegetables and likes most foods. I suppose he dislikes the typical foods that most kids in his age group dislike, such as spicy foods.
Fears include darkness, being alone (he plays well by himself as long as I'm nearby), death (his grandfather recently passed away), new situations in which there are strangers, such as the first day of school, etc. He is very shy around new people, but once he gets to know them, he is friendly and talkative.
Strange behaviors--he talks incessantly at home, wets the bed every night, doesn't like going to friends' houses without his brother,
refuses to express pain in front of people he doesn't know (for example, he just had some molluscum removed from his buttocks. The process was painful, yet he wouldn't admit it to the nurse). He shows off in front of close friends. For example, he will destroy his toys when his friends are visiting and laugh about it. He has a wild imagination, enjoys fantasy play. Laughs easily and has a natural talent for comedy. Likes superheros and strong men.
He feels better when his father or I are present.
He prefers warm weather to cold, but doesn't complain much about being either too warm or too cold. Prefers playing outside. Prefers staying up late and sleeping late.
He recently has has several painful, pus filled pimples in the same areas as the molluscum. They are red and warm to the touch.
The eczema seems to be aggravated with cold and dryness.
Thank you very much for your attention!!

I have analyzed the case, and here is the prescription.

Three doses of Lycopodium 30c to be given for ONE single day as described below.

Dissolve 2 pellets of Lycopodium 30c in a 250 ml spring water bottle. If leave the pellets in water for 20 mins, they will melt. You can shake it gently after they have dissolved.

Take a teaspoon from this bottle using a disposable spoon 3 times, spaced by 30 minutes. This is to be done for one day ONLY.

Let me know in 5 days after these 3 doses.

Restrictions:

1/. Nothing should enter the mouth for 40 minutes prior to, or after taking the remedy.
2/. Do not touch the tablets with your hands, tip them into the cap of the container they came in and then into the water .
3/. Avoid coffee, tea (including green), and other sources of caffeine such as some fizzy drinks and large amounts of chocolate, except where this would cause a drastic change in consumption
4/. Avoid wearing perfume/aftershave, or exposure to anything with a strong smell on the day and 3 days following the remedy administration. This includes any and all essential oils, and incense.
5/. Avoid the consumption of excessively spicey foods
6/. The use of medicinal herbs, either as 'teas' or supplements should be avoided during Homoeopathic treatment, as should the use of over the counter medication, unless this has been recommended by an MD.
7/. Nothing of a medicinal nature should be applied to the skin

After following your instructions, I have noticed a slight improvement in my son's skin ailments. The eczema seems to have subsided, although not completely, and the pimples have gone down quite a bit. I'm satisfied so far with this remedy. What is the next step--just wait and repeat the remedy if the symptoms return? Thank you very much for your attention.

tlzak last decade
Please wait for 10 more days and update me at that time.

Under no circumstances is the same potency to be repeated.

Please procure Lycopodium 200c, but do not give it without talking to me. One early repetition with Lycopodium tends to spoil the case so we need to be very careful.

Have you seen any mental changes as well?

As a matter of fact, I have seen some slight improvements in his attitude. Last week was his first day at gymnastics, and although a bit shy in the beginning, he warmed up relatively quickly and is enthusiastic about attending this week. My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised.

Regarding the Lycopodium, he has had 2 separate doses in the past and responded well. I will follow your advice and be careful with this rememdy. I will report back in 10 days. Thank you!

Further to my last post. I would try Galium first. I have learnt in my recent studies that Galium is specific for molluscum.

It has been 10 days now and I've seen some changes. The eczema seems to have gotten a bit worse. It was very itchy the last few days (especially in the evening) and yesterday it crusted over in a dark red crust. Could this be the healing process? Molluscum are the same as before, however he has improved socially. I haven't tried the suggestions of galium or Rubia tincturum--I live in Norway and these things are difficult to come by.
Do you have any further suggestions?
Thank you.

Please do not give any other remedy right now. I am glad you did not give Gallium. The above post was not made by me.

There is no 'this for that' medicine in homeopathy. Lycopodium is the correct remedy as shown by mental improvements coupled with worsening of eczema. The disease is coming to outer levels.

We will wait longer as Lycopodium needs to repeated with great caution.

Please procure Lycopodium 200c , but do not give it right now. Just keep it handy.

Update me in a week from now. We will see where we are at that time.

Here is what I've noticed: 2 out of 3 patches of eczema have improved greatly, the third patch still looks bad, but it is quite large--perhaps it takes longer to heal?? The molluscum on the buttocks look very red, some have pus forming, but they seem to be diminishing. It appears as though there are fewer now than there were before the remedy.
Any suggestions thus far? On a side note, he now has pneumonia and is taking antibiotics (I hesitate giving antibiotics, but in his case, with the heart problem, I need to follow the advice of doctors closely).
Thank you for your attention.

the symptoms leading to pneumonia were to be told--part of the knowing doc needs--
if had such pnemonia in past then respons to lycopdium has gone too deep--and to be followed/tamed with compliment homoeopath treatment--not other----but if this pneumonia is unusal--then suppressive response to lycopodium--skin to lungs --wrong direction--in any case u need tell doc ALL that is occuring for proper treatment------a note to observe--if skin improved and this curent ill came up--then suppressive ----

Well, that's disturbing. Now what am I supposed to do?
By the way, the pneumonia is bacterial and has been going around in these parts.

Hi ,

How is he doing mentally now ?

Are the improvements in his behavior still holding ?

His mental attitude remains positive. In fact, I've been pleasantly surprised by this change.

tlzak last decade
Then, this is not suppressive. This treatment is MOST DEFINITELY CURATIVE. There is nothing to be disturbed.

You should keep waiting, as mental improvements are pointing in the DIRECTION of cure.

But, you should not have prescribed antibiotics, and should have contacted me for the pneumonia. Everything is linked in homeopathy. The whole body needs to be treated as one.

Please update me in 1 week.

Even though my son had taken antibiotics, I've seen nothing but improvement in him. It has been gradual, but so far we are very pleased as his constitution and skin ailments have gotten better.

I'm very careful with my son due to his heart condition. If he gets a bacterial infection, it is important to treat it as soon as possible as it can affect the heart causing endocarditis. This is why I agreed to the antibiotics. I will ask your advice in the future, however. Thank you!

Good to know :)

Okay, you can wait for 1 more week and then give him a single dose of Lycopodium 200c as below

Dissolve 2 pellets in 120 ml water, and give him a teaspoon from there just ONCE.

Make sure nothing enters the mouth 1 hr before and 1 hr after the dose.

Report in 10 days after this dose.

Sorry it has taken so long to write back--we had a family emergency. Since I live in Norway and it is difficult to obtain homeopathic remedies, I used what I already had on hand. I dissolved 1 pellet of 30C Lycopodium in 200ml water and admininstered according to your instructions. His eczema seemed to get worse at first but now it is much better. His constition is improved as well. Thank you for your advice!! Any further steps we should take?

Please do not repeat any more of 30c. This will spoil all the progress made. Now, you must NEVER give 30c again.

Please procure 200c. Do not repeat without talking to me. You can buy it from Helios Pharmacy in UK online. They ship to any place in the world very quickly.
