How long to avoid toothpaste

I´m treating a chronic condition using homeopathy. I know that you should avoid peppermint toothpaste, but for how long? For the whole treatment until you are better (at the very least several months) or just for an hour after taking the actual remedy?

At the moment Im using calendular toothpaste but I really miss my normal toothpaste and I´m getting plaque.

Many thanks for your help.
