Help for my son who is low!

Hello, suggestions please, my son is 7, he is a normal happy boy with a wide group of friends, however just recently he has been picked on at school, and although the school have dealt with it very well and it has settled down, my son is now very low and has lost confidence. He says he doesn't feel himself, if we make a joke with him about something he has done, it takes it personally and will over react getting upset at very small things. Some of the other children at his childminders will gang up a bit on him and normally he would rise above it, but now he just gets very upset. Is there anything I can give to lift his self esteem and confidence. thanks
