strange prescription

i contacted one recomended doctor from India, paid him money, he sent me package with remedies and didn't give me names of that remedies, just details like: Biochemic packs or take 2 sweet pills from this package and 2 sweet pills from that.
is it normal practice for indian doctors to hide name of remedies? i don't understand. Can someone explain it to me, please

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
its their way--undisclosed medicine names and instructions---u need trust doc implicitly to follow such regime--as is evident u DONT--so throw away and chalk to experience--or TAKE A CHANCE--depends how desperate u r---if not going to die--which i think u not--then find someone u trust and proceed as asuch

you could have got those medicines in your region/country itself. You should have asked him what medicines he is going to prescribe.

Very few homeo doctors in India are doing this way ; It's a shame that they are in the same path of those greedy Indian tourist guides;

But not most of them are like this; I am an Indian doctor too.

i paid him money already and asked if he can give me names of remedies. He could name this remedies without any risks, i paid already but he refused to do it.
yesterday i received confirmation from UPS that this package must come on friday.
So, i don't see any reason for him to do it. He could give me any names.

If you get to know the name of the medicine(s)...and are not conversant with the manner in which homeopathy works...you might just buy more of those meds and repeat them on your own ...which could lead to 'proving' of that medicine on you / the patient.

To understand what 'proving of a medicine' means...please read about the basics of homeopathy (if you do not know about it already ).

i still don't understand why he made such a big secret out it.
ok, i will know remedies and i don't need to order them by myself since he already sent them to me.
Do you know anyone who does it?

In India,it is a general practice by homeopaths not to disclose the medicine name.
I am also a sufferer of such kind of strange prescriptions .
I have seen many renowned homeopaths not giving the name of medicine.
The reason behind this is:
1.They don't get enough consultation fee.I have seen many people talking that'He/she is a homeopathic doctor, and how come can charge such a high consultation fee.
2.By not disclosing the medicine names, they are able to earn few extra bucks .

Qualified docs do the same--for proper approach not revealing med name---
(1)so that patient no self medicate
(2) in case placebo need be administerd (for hypochondrocial patient) and need see if patient respond on false pretense

these r reasons for legitiamte doc approach as such
