Adenoids - frequent cold and coughs
My both daughters are having adenoids. So they are getting very frequent cold and cough in the winter like once or twice in the month. My older one (7 1/2 years age) she is having almost all through out the winter. My little one getting once in a month. Mainly they are getting nasal congetion. Please adivce me some good remedy for adenoids and allergies. Thanks for your help.aabbc on 2009-03-10

My 2 year old daughter is less weight almost under weight, her weight should not go down and 7 year old girl is 7 pounds over weight, her weight should not go up. I heard Calcarea carbonica is deep action medicine. If I use it two times per day for 2 weeks, Is it ok? Thanks for your response.

If dr. Mahfooz agrees, for your 2 year old, calc. phos 30c can be used and for your 7 year old, Calcarea Carb 30c can be used.

I agree with DrMahffooz and Maheru ;;;;;Much better if treatment starts with a single dose of Bacillinum 200 to be given to the underweight younger one before we start with calcarea phos 30 ;; ;; another dose after seeing the response to calcarea phos 30 later ;;

Thanks for all of your help. I forgot to mention one more thing about my 7 year old girl. Everyday when she sneeze her nose with hot water, some thicky mucus come out from the nose. Most of the times its in the green color. I don't know, Is it cold or not? I mean because of adenoids, It is coming like that. In my two year old girl's case It will not happen like that. Any advice for this case. Once again thanks for your help.

The remedies(calc. phos and calc. carb) suggested above with respect to your daughters will strengthen their constitution and they will improve overall. Dry doses can be repeated till some reaction is seen i.e a few doses. if wet dose then it can be repeated frequently. But I'd expect your daughters to do well than before with the above remedies that includes -adenoids and the associated symptoms too.

OK, Sure. Once again thanks. Finally before starting those remedies, I've one more question, If you don't mind. I heard that Calc. Carb is deep action remedy. Am I correct? In that case, can I give doses everyday? Any side effects? Please let me know about dosage information. Which is powerful, dry doses or wet doses? Thanks for your help.

Both variants of calcareas are deep acting. So do most of the polychrest remedies like sulphur, lyco, thuja etc. Hence they are most useful in constitutional treatment.
Regarding frequency of dosage and mode of dosage there may be varied opinions. But in my experience, I most of the time wait at least 8 weeks to see the effect of calcarea when it's applied constitutionally. In dry dosage I prefer giving 3 doses distributed on a single day or three doses daily for ONLY 3 days. If its wet dosage (by putting 5 pills or drops only once in a bottle preferably 500ml mineral water bottle and from the water bottle 3 to 5 drops as a dose once or twice daily depending upon the susceptibility. But VERY IMPORTANT aspect of wet dose is just before administering every subsequent dose, the bottle has to be forcefully shaken up and down for 7 times) it can be repeated frequently as long as the subject improves and does not suffers any aggravation or new symptoms. Dry and wet doses are equally effective; with dry doses time taken will be longer. And in some sensitive subjects wet dosing may be more gentle than dry doses. Hope that clears your doubts. Other homeopaths may have different opinions based on their knowledge and experience.
