Proximal Myopathy?

Hello, I have had a difficult run the last two or three years. I have pursued this illness via big medicine (Mayo Clinic, multiple specialists for Rheumatology, Neurology, Endrocrinology, etc.) with no success other than a generic label of Proximal Myopathy earned after enduring 2 hours of 35 mm needles being inserted in my legs, groin and lower back.

I have had literally hundreds of tests and labs done with nothing really abnormal except for the EMG test above and a fluctuating calcium level from low to high.

Currently the theories are: Reaction to statins; Lyme Disease; Virus; MD or MS; or toxicity due to my time in the Army working with helicopters and lots of solvents, oils, fluids.

I have made appointments to the University of Iowa for their MD, MS clinic and to a clinic in Kansas City for Lyme. Both are in August. A local doctor has been giving me 25 gram Vitamin C IVs for virus/toxicity which have helped but seem to be tapering off after a month of twice a week IVs.

My current symptoms are:

Very painful chronic upper leg pain. I am currently using Ultram ER 200 mg to manage.

Foggy brain.

Sporatic twitches in muscles, mainly the calfs and upper arms.

Strong fatigue. Need 10 to 15 hours of sleep per day. I have more energy in the evening than in the morning after waking.

Nausea at all times. Kept in control by Meclizine.

Skin is hot to the touch especially in the lower back and groin areas and I feel very hot most times.

Limbs feel very heavy and unresponsive.

Personality change. I was a successful businessman with a typical Type A personality. The positive aspect of this illness has been my personality change. I am much, much more patient, calm and empathic which has improved my relationships with family and friends. I don't want to lose this in any cure.

This illness has a 1 to 4 week cycle where all of the symptoms get much worse which ends up with me in bed and in lots of pain despite the Ultram ER. I have been offered narcotic based pain relievers for these spells but have refused so far. The spell used to be 3 to 6 weeks apart but have occured more often but somewhat weaker since the Vitiam C IVs.

I have used homeopathics for a couple of years now with some decent successes on family and friends. While I have tried to treat myself with a myriad of remedies, I have had little success.

My apologies for the length of this, I have tried to keep it as short as possible.

Thank you very much for your quick response. I do not have those salts on hand in 3X strength so I will need to order them in. I will practice the breathing techniques in the meantime.
