bladder retention in healthy adult young female

I had a severe kidney infection in Jan 2007 and have been suffering from chronic bladder retention ever since. I have no pain except when working out, which I like to do daily. I eat very clean, organic foods and limit my liquid intake to water. I have seen several doctors and gone through all kinds of tests (MRI, endoscopy, ultrasounds, etc) to figure out the problem but all three doctors are clueless. It's starting to limit my workouts and cause more pain in participating in athletic events. I am 27 and healthier than most. I'm desperate to find a cure. Any suggestions?

Patient ID: Sex: Age: Female 27
*Have had 3 kidney infections that put me in the hospital- ages 3 months, 18, 25. Last two were flu-like symptoms which stumped doctors. At age 18, entire abdomen was infected with only sytmptoms being sever adominial pain and vomitting. Age 25, started off with upset stomach and within a few hours was nonstop vomitting until I was so dehydrated I was hearing things and wasn't strong enough to lift myself up. Had to call abulance. ER just put me on an IV with meds for an hour and released me. Didn't have my period for 3 months after that (which i'm ALWAYS regular) until my doctor put me on birth control to regulate it. So my system was definitely tramatized from the last episode which is when i began having the voiding issues with my bladder.

Please answer the following questions in a descriptive manner after careful analysis and recollection of previous experiences and happenings.

1. Describe your main suffering?
I have a sip of water and 20 minutes later i'm having the urge to urinate. I never leak, its just a constant feeling of needing to pee if i am intaking fluids. i only have begun to experience recent pain during exercises although my stomach usually cramps now-a-days which i'm attributing to being dydrated but my doctor told me to watch my fluid intake since my bladder doesn't empty properly. when i run, i almost feel like my body is shutting down. I used to be able to run 5 miles with ease but running one mile seems to take it all out of me. my body just feels blah inside and i usually have to urinate during short cardio sessions which dont make sense.

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?
i am also startin to develop acne which i've never had to battle with before. my skin is fair and sensitive, but i've never had acne like this (chin and sometimes forehead). i've noticed a correlation between break-outs and fluid intake. more fluids = more zits. i'm guessing that the toxins from the stored urine in my body are trying to escape any way possible and perhaps this is one way. also, recently, sweating has begun to stain the armpits of my t-shirts yellow which has never been like this. also, attributing to the toxins.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?
Nothing other than frustration as I like to play soccer, flag football, run races, and WAS attempting to train for a triathlon and feeling this way is very discouraging. normally i can run through pain, stitches, etc, but this is just a constant feeling of my body telling me it can't.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?
sometimes when working out, the cramping in my lower abodmen is pretty intense, but i feel much worse when my body just can't function properly enough to get through a mile run. its not an intense pain so it's hard to describe. it literally feels like there is poison in my body and it's causing my organs not to work effectively. this is something that's really come into play this year and seems to be getting worse.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?
The bladder rentention started after the kidney infetion in jan of 2007. i have had two in the past but i didn't reach the level of dehydration that i did with this last one.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?
working out or intaking lots of fluids. . . which i want to be hydrated from all the sports i like (i'm a personal trainer so i'm pretty healthy and active)

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?
drinking lots of fluids aggravate it especially non-water beverages, beer. any activity where im sweating a lot or working pretty physically. nothing relieves it really because if i increase my fluids, i live in the bathroom and feel like crap when i workout and i break out on my face. if i decrease them, my stomach cramps and i stay dehydrated which also causes my workouts to suffer

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?
no, unfortunately. the doctors have comfirmed i have bladder rentention, they just can't find the cause. i know it's related to my last infection and the severity of my level of dehydration

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
probably colder weather as i dont dehydrate as easily

10. Describe your general mental set up? Are you Moody, Arrogant, Mild, Agreeable Changeable, Nervous, Suspicious, Easily offended, Quiet, Arguing, Irritating, Lazy etc.
i'm pretty agreeable but i guess i can be offended easily. i'm usually very upbeat and happy.. but this situation is getting worse and making me miserable as its difficult to enjoy the things i love to do

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm?
LOVE thunderstorms!

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times?
with this situation, not really. i like to talk about it to get ideas from others if they know someone who had something similar. otherwise, i tend to do deep thinking during tough times and talk to friends who are good at listening
- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc?
light maybe. my skin is very sensitive and my eyes are sensitive to light

- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc?
hehe, no

- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife?
love them!! no hubby yet, single gal

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly?
not many fears. being badly mangled is about it. no repeated situation dream.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions?
i crave chocolate like all girls. i tend to eat clean 80% of the time. . .fruits, veggies, lean meats, whole grains

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive?
sometimes excessive just because i limit my intake bc of my issues

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive?
maybe excessive, probably to make up for the low water intake

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand?
anything greasy but that's just now that i feed it actual food and not fast food like i did in college

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs?
sweat more.. esp from armpits. its pretty gross

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type?
normal and regular. always has been.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping?
i sleep very well. 8 hours a night and i sleep on my stomach usually

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general?
yes
20. How do you think you are different from others, if at all?
in any way you mean? i think i'm a go getter and i tend to think outside of the box. i think i am a bit different. i'm not afraid to say what's on my mind, even if its really silly. . which is 90% of the time. i feel like i'm filling out a dating profile for my bladder hahaha

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication?
they gave me flomax. yes, even though i dont have a prostate, and that of course didn't work. they sent me to a neurologist but found nothing unusual. i dont take any medicines and limit what i do take when i'm sick.

22. What major diseases are running in your family?
my grandma has lupas.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance
i'm a thin girl but athletic. kind of tall for a girl, fair skin.

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES)
