desperate help!!!!
OLD MAN AGE 65 YEARS has POTTS DiseaseTuberculosis of Spine
History ;-
Had pain in low back Four Months ago and it was diagnosed as sciatica in Xray. Medicines were given like Colocynthis, Gnaph, Mag-phos, Rhus tox in differnt times since last 4 months but no improvent came.
Then MRI was done and it was diagnozed as Vertebral TB . Right now only L2 Vertebrae has caries and it has pressesd the sciatic nerve. Due to this patient on bed since last 20 days.
Pyrogenium 200 C 1 dose was given then after few days Bacillinium 200 c 1 dose was given.
Now Silicea 200 C 1 dose was given day before yesterday. And after 3 hours patient developed fever, which ameliorated with Ferrum Phos 30 x and BC 11.
20/6/2008 Fever 104 Degrees . Severe Pain in sciatica.
And Bone TB.
No TB in lungs. No Cough.
ESR is 80

The next medicine will be Silicea 6 C or Silicea 30 C
Kindly give advise also on Silicea 6x and Silicea 12 x
Silicea if given in low potency for a long time can can actually cause more absess and pus in that area...
But The Million Dollar question is that What is the duration for which it can be given in Low Potency in such a case when actually an abscess is there and the patient is in excess pain.

The only advisory I had of Silicea is that ;-
Sil possesses the ability to to simulate absorption of fibrosed and scar tissue, it should therefore be avoided or used with caution and not in high potency in old cases of pulmonary tuberculoses where there may be encapsulated pockets of tubercle bacilli which might be released to cause fresh active disease.

But the patient doesnot have pulmonary tuberculoses..
Only Bone TB.
So was it a mistake to give it in 200 c ? one does of 3 drops directly on tongue ?

Today all day he was fine, the temperature rose only in the evening at 4 pm and right now its 11 pm and its around 104 degrees inspite of many doeses of ferrum phos 30x and BC11 and a tablet of crosin and an intramuscular injection called Febrinil

The lesson learnt so far is that Silicea should have been given in 6x, 12x , 6c or 30c and then later on progress to 200c.
But I had suggested higher potency because patient is under allopathic 9 month TB Treatment and i thought that silicea in material dose might interfere in that treatment or bring any new surprise, also advise on this thats why only silicea in potency was prescribed.
Another medicine of interest is Calcarea Carb

Dose.--Sixth to thirtieth potency. The 200th and higher of unquestioned activity. In malignant affections, the lowest potencies needed at times.
Reading from above 200c was prescribed and a single- ONE dose was given only.

The Next course of action is
1. Wait of one week and let the patient to suffer. Patient in this case is my father.
2. Antidote Silicea with Calc-s, Camph, Fl-Ac, Merc
3. Or some other medicine to be given immediately.
Also here note that Sil if given in low potency and in too frequent repetition can actually cause suppuration and destruction. So thats why i had given one dose in higher dilution

Patient is having severe pain sciatica as vertebra has infection and has compressed the sciatica nerve and there is abscess in spine due to this and high temperature of 104 degrees.
Patient on bed in hospital. Something urgent and useful expected from this forum......

Can Tuberculinium 1M help in this stage ?

On one hand some doctor tells not to give it in high potency in lung tb, but patient doesnot have lung tb.
On second hand some doctor tells not to give in low potency in too frequent repetition as it can actually cause supporation and destruction.
On third hand a doctor tells that

I think I should have given
Silicea 30 c once daily for like 2 weeks..
Any advise on when can i start to give sil 30 c.
Can i give it immediately when an aggravation is already there with high fever ?
Or should i first control the fever with other remedies and then after fever has subsided return back to silicea.

If the fever is still not controlled and if the fever has started after taking silica, it is better to antidote silicea by taking three doses of camphor 30c at a gap of 4 hours on a single day. i think that no more doses of camphor are required only 3 doses are sufficient.
