L-Theanine

I am curious to know if anyone in here has used L-Theanine to help ease stress and anxiety. I have suffered from anxiety and fear of various things for years. I went to my local natural food/supplement store and was suggested to try L-Theanine. It worked immediately and amazingly. I used it for a week before giving some to my teenager for his anger issues. One hour after trying it he happily said,'mom what was that stuff, it made me clear headed and able to think about my problems instead of be so angry?'

So it has worked wonderfully for me. I am wondering if anyone knows about it. Why its not more readily spoken of. Is there any possible negative side effects to be concerned of if using it often?
