Three questions about dosing and side-effects

Hi,

I'm just learning about this stuff. I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with.

1. What is the difference between 30C and 200ck? I recently bought a tube of Boiron 'Ignatia Amara' in strength 200ck. I wanted 30C but the only one they had at the store was 200ck. Is there a difference? Is 200ck stronger? Does that mean I should use it less often or something?

2. I was under the impression that homeopathy had no side effects. I also bought some Coffea Cruda to help me sleep, but I'm afraid to use it now after reading this thread: ( http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/34965/ ) where someone said they used it for 2 weeks and it messed up their metabolism!! What's going on there???

3. Also to help me sleep, I bought some Boiron 'Quietude' which is a mixture of different homeopathic sleep aids. Is this going to have any side effects? It doesn't have Coffea Cruda in it if that matters.

Thanks!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

Ignatia is inimical to Coffea therefore one should not take these two remedies in succession and should never take them at the same time.
200c is a higher potency. You should use it less often.

The duration of action of Ignatia is 9 days. You may take three doses of Ignatia 200c on a single day (not daily) at a gap of 4 hours. It should not be repeated within 9 days. If it works and there is substantial relief in symptoms it should be taken only when the old symptoms are back and not until then.

If a person takes a homeopathic remedy which is not indicated, he may prove that remedy ie he may develop the symptoms for which that remedy is used. But this does not mean that he is having any disease now. These symptoms will remain not beyond the period which is the duration of action for that remedy. Duration of action for coffea cruda is 1-7 days. Therefore when somebody says that he is suffering from metabolism disorders due to taking coffea cruda six months back is very far stretched. Everything that happens after taking remedy cannot be attributed to that remedy.

3. Also to help me sleep, I bought some Boiron 'Quietude' which is a mixture of different homeopathic sleep aids. Is this going to have any side effects? It doesn't have Coffea Cruda in it if that matters.
It is better to take single remedy as far as possible. By the way can you share the constituents of that mixture.

Thanks for the reply.

I got the Ignatia because it said it was for 'stress due to everyday nervousness.' Sometimes I get pretty anxious and nervous and so I thought using the Ignatia would be better than taking the Ativan that my doctor wanted me to take.

I have another Boiron remedy for 'stage fright, apprehension' but I cannot remember the name of it... gelsium or something like that. It is 30C, but I would usually only take it once a week or so.

Anyway, the Ignatia 200ck sounded so much stronger even though on the package it doesn't mention not being able to take it every day.

So anyway, I got the Ignatia for stress and nervousness, and the Coffea Cruda for going to sleep (I have a ton of mental activity that prevents me from sleeping sometimes, and that's what it said Coffea Cruda is indicated for), but then I read good reviews online of the Quietude stuff so I got that, too.

How do you know that Ignatia and Coffea Cruda shouldn't be taken together? Would it be bad to take Ignatia during the day and then the Coffea at night for bed?

I might actually return the Ignatia and see if I can get 30C instead. 200ck sounds like too much... it lasts for 9 days!! Wow!

Thanks for the reply.

This fact is reported in Boericke's Materia Medica. It is one of the most reputed books on homeopathy.

Would it be bad to take Ignatia during the day and then the Coffea at night for bed?
Very Bad.

Oh. I figured it would say on the label if they were incompatible.

Just out of curiosity, what would happen if one took Ignatia during the day and then Coffea at night for bed?

Should I not use them, then?

Is Coffea a safe remedy for sleeping if your mind is racing (assuming you haven't been taking ignatia)?

How much time should I put between taking ignatia and taking coffea?

Homoeopathic Remedies arouse the vital force and the cure is effected by the vital force and not any remedy. In my opinion the outcome will differ from person to person if inimical remedies are taken. If there is nothing wrong happened to you, just forget about it and don't do it again.

Yes.

It is better to explore other remedies like staphysagria and natrum mur instead of ignatia.

I know this is an old post but I wanted to repond in case someone read it and thinks cofea cuda messes up the metabolism. If you have an on going problem sleeping or with insomnia chances are very high your night time cortisol levels are raising. If you google corisol you will see that is contributed to weight gain especially around the middle. High cortisol makes it impossible to lose weight. I know because it happened to me.
