Eczema

I have been seeing a local HD (homeopathic doctor) for about 4 months for eczema (on hands), nasal allergies, digestive troubles, coldness, mental clarity, bad long term memory. She prescribed Ars Albm in various potencies(1M, LM3), as well as Kali Ars. 30C, each of which worked with most of my symptoms except eczema. What is wrong. She now changed it to silicae 30c. The very first dosage agravated the symptoms. With Ars.Alb., there is no aggravation of nasal alergies and digestive problems etc; but i think it also agravated my eczema as well. What is going on here?

She is a Classical HD, therefore, she only wants to use one remedy at a time. Is it possible that 2 remedies, one for just the eczema and Ars. Alb for the rest might work.

Furthermore, while we are hunting for a remedy, my eczema keeps getting worse. Previously, I used steroid creme to control it, but i can't use it since it would cancel any homeopathic medicine.

I am in a real bind right now with the eczema. Please help! At least if someone can recommend something topical, that can relieve the symptoms that would not interfere with the homeo. medicines. I have already tried calendula and various natural oils (olive, almond, black seed). And of course if someone can recommend a way out of this situation. Thanks.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Dear Abuyaseen,
I am sure your Homoeopathic Doctor is taking good care of you.
It is only a single remedy which will help at a point of time.It can be followed up or complemented or changed as and when any progress is there.
Since the most of your symptoms are better and only eczema remains and at this point of time Silicea could be suiting the symptoms your Doctor would have given the same .
As far as any topical applications are considered things are steroids only push the symptoms to the background and would bounce back with vengeance later.
So please go along with the treatment and see.
I am sure you should get better.

I have found an excellent topical eczema cream, that uses
a lot of essential fatty acids. Also I am taking CLA (conjugated linoleic
acid), which might be helping too. I do not find that either of these
interfere with homeopathic remedies.

The cream is called shea butter body lotion for eczema and dry
skin, available on the web at www.botanicalworks.com

Good luck!!

Debra,

I've never heard of fatty acids being taken topically, though if it works for you, then I wouldn't want to discredit it. What is more widespread is that as part of a dietry supplement, omega 3 fatty acids can be beneficial in treating eczema.

Though you can buy supplements, you're better off with a change of diet, as nutrition is, after all, the whole purpose of food! Omega 3 fatty acids are found in cold water fish (ie cod, salmon).

Hi there. I just found this site and this topic relates to my question, so I thought I'd add it here.
My son is five months old. He has a severe rash on both cheeks which has now spread to his forehead and under his chin. It doesn't seem to bother him, aside from the itching, but when he scratches his face he bleeds everywhere.
This has been going on for three months now, and I'm getting really worried.
We've tried numerous remedies, with no success overall, and I'm at the end of my rope. One HD suggested to me that I might have thyroid problems and this was somehow interfering with treatment. Can someone tell me how I would know and what to do about it?
Thanks. :)

Hello,

Childhood eczema is often the result of an allergy. Have you tried allergy testing?

Incidently, if the problem does turn out to be an allergy, in later years , when the allergy seems to have passed it can come back in 'mental' symptoms, such as adhd, so be aware of that!

I don't know what he could be exhibiting an allergy to as he's been breastfed and nothing else since he was born. Could it be something I am eating? If so, what are the more likely causes? I wouldn't know where to start.
(I don't drink milk so that's pretty much out.)
thank you!

hello there,

YES I DO ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE RASHES ARE BEING CAUSED BY ALLERGIES.

I SUSPECT THE INVISIBLE CRITTERS!

THE DUST MITES.

WHAT YOU CAN DO IS REMOVE CARPETTING FROM YOUR CHILD SLEEPING ROOM, ALSO YOU MUST BY DUST MITE MATTRESS ENCASING FOR BOTH HIS PILLOW AND BEDDING, DONT WORRY THEY HAVE BABY CRIB SIZE MATTRESS CASINGS.

ALSO IF YOU ARE ALSO SLEEPING IN THE SAME ROOM, YOU MUST GET ENCASINGS FOR YOUR MATTRESS,BOXSPRING,AND PILLOWS.

YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT HOW THIS CAN CHANGE ONES HEALTH GREATLY!

HOPE HE GETS BETTER

THANX

I have a four year old son who had severe cradle cap and eczema at birth to one year old. After many trips to MD's and nothing but steroids with a side effect/warning list as long as your arm we visited a ND. He suggested we try a topical product called concentrated Neem aura cream. We got it at our local health food store. It erased his eczema and whenever he has an outbreak we put it on and it works..

Good Luck

Dear Abuyaseen, Please trust your HD as they know things that even they have forgotton! An agrivation of the last symptoms, that seems to be your skin condition is a normal path of treatment. It seems that the skin may be the last treated as all on the inside is pushed out through the skin. When one uses steriods and outside creams, it supresses or pushes it into the body, then the Homeopathic remedy lets it out again.

So, Most of the other advice was plausible, but beware of pushing it in again.

Look up FAGOPYRUM and see if it may sound like what you have. It is known to be most helpful for eczema on the hands. It is a real itchy skin help. SABRA

The baby with a rash on the face may be allergic, but I am asking if the baby had any immunizations??? NO MORE PLEASE!! If it is allergies one can find out if both the mother and child take a dose of AMBROSIA. If there is easement of the rash, you will know. Please do not rush into an allergy search with a MD, as there is so much that can upset the balance of the child's body. Only the mother may have an allergy and is accidently eating or applying it to herself. Soaps, lotions, cream, perfumes, deodorants. Have you changed anything? Anything new? What is a favorite drink or food?? SABRA

When I was a child, I never had eczema, it began when I was an adult and I think it related to my immune system getting weak. I must have been allergic to the things before. I was having trouble with wheat products and dairy products. I still have it, but it has gone down. When I was taking a combination remedy for my cold sores, it somehow was reducing it at the same time and helping my mood. I remember my shoulder in the hot shower would be very red and round.
That is not happening anymore, thank God and my scalp is really itchy anymore and the hair is not falling out. One remedy I did take was a strong dose of Arsenicum Album. I think also Natrum Muriaticum has some benefits for people with say hay fever, which I had, but I am not a homeopath. I do know Natrum Muriaticum was present in the combination remedy that I took several weeks ago.

For marksay,

As you mentioned about Neem aura cream erased your son's eczema, I would like to try this cream for my son who suffers from too much etching but i could not find it any my local health stores like Trader Joe's, Whole Food or GNC.

How long did you apply this cream and how many times a day you rubbed it before you could see the results?

Please reply.

Have you tried Rosehip oil - I use it for my sons eczema, it softens the skin straight away and is not really greasy, its also supposed to help with scars, please read up on this and it may help you, also aalgo, is a sea weed preparation powder which is put in the bath, where you then soak for about half and hour or so, this also helps with eczema and itching. Please check these out - you never know they may help you like they have helped my son.
Good luck

Florasone can be used in conjuction with homeopathic remedies, it is sold in health stores. It is natural, does not contain petroleum or cortisone.

I agree with the earlier post that dust mites contribute to eczema, it is very important to wash bedding weekly in HOT water, buy allergy pillow covers. Also , chlorinated water is the biggest culprit for skin disorders as it also kills beneficial bacteria and strips the natural moisturizing oils. A good shower filter or whole house filters should be used.
