Doaseage advice for Belladonna for Bi-polar

My post didn't show on the forum lists, so am posting again. I'm 30, bi-polar. Belladonna was listed as a remedy in Kent's repertory for 98 symptoms/characterics, only didn't match 5. So I am quite certain it is what I need to take. But how much? And how often? I ordered 30c, I think, and it should be here today. I just want to know if it's too weak a dose; too strong to start with; etc. I am quite resistant to the meds they have given me. They work for a short time, but then the effects fade and I am a moody, irritable, oversensitive and anxious person. No good to anyone, I think, when I am in a low state. Any help would be appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Do not self treat a mental illness. This is a very dangerous thing to attempt. Homoeopathy is very powerful, and dangerous. Treatment of pyschological illness must only be attempted by a trained and experienced practitioner who can monitor and support you. There are almost 5000 different homoeopathic medicines - you might need any one of them.

Not only that but Kent's repertory is very old, and quite out of date. It does not contain enough medicines for anyone to make a good choice, it does not have enough rubrics in the mental section, and it contains many mistakes.

When making a prescription for a chronic condition you need to watch out for the Miasmatic taint, Compensation, Obstacles to cure, Past suppression, possible Causation - these are all things that we are prepared for in our training.

Without supervision, how will you deal with the Aggravation, know if you have experienced a proving, or know when there is a change of state needing a new medicine? How will you make your second prescription, or even know when it is time to do that.

Homoeopathic prescribing is quite complex. You need to be able to find the Central part of the case, and match that to the Central state of the remedy. If you have not studied Materia Medica, it is not possible for you to do this.

You really need to find someone to do your case, someone who is qualified and has experience with treating mental health problems. I have treated 6 serious bi-polar cases, only 2 of them were cured. They are amongst the most difficult cases I have ever treated.

Firstly, Belladonna cannot cure such a disorder. It is just an 'acute' remedy with very little power to cure something as deep as bipolar disorder.

Secondly, do not self prescribe, as with great power to cure comes a great power to cause harm as well.

I understand what both of you are saying. However, at the risk of sounding stubborn or obstinate, I will tell you that I know myself. I have studied how to go about things. I know that the most important symptoms are those of the mind esp. in my case). Unless you have lived with this disorder yourself, you have a slim chance of actually knowing what it's like to be me. I am an intelligent person, not prone to spontaneity or jumping to conclusions. One of the things I have taken with me after reading as much as I have on the art of homeopathy is that if the shoe fits, it's probably best to wear it. As I said before, I'm not flying blind. I'll not take something if I don't beleive that's it's safe or correct for the situation. I would be quite curious as to what you two would suggest. I am technically bi-polar II. I do not experience the extreme highs and lows that bi-polar I experiences.
In addition, I would also like to ask if either of you have successfully helped anyone with bi-polar by your prescribing. Going through these forum boards and reading the posts on bi-polar, I have not noticed one that has been definitively 'cured'.
Classical homeopathy takes the whole patient into consideration. It's a matter of figuring out what's not right, in the whole picture, and finding a remedy to correct it. Yes, I use layman's terms, because 'doc talk' doesn't suit me. So, if you wish to suggest something different, and if I haven't already gone through the repertories (I have Boenninghausen's & Kents, as well as the Materia Medica) and ruled them out for some significant reason, I will look into your suggestions and consider if they may be correct.
I hardly can beleive that anyone would consider taking something without carefully researching it first. So please don't expect me to jump on the suggestion just because you have been formally trained in homeopathic medicine and I have not. Blind faith is not something I have.

I appreciate that you are looking for help with a very difficult condition. I have treated several cases - they are tough both clinically and personally. I have cured only 2 of those, with patients who were very committed to the process. The others were not, or were just too difficult for me at that stage of my professional development.

However, I must reiterate, you cannot treat yourself for a chronic and serious psychological condition. Homoeopathy demands an objective perspective and you just cannot do that. It is not a criticism but simply a fact of homoeopathic treatment. And without training you cannot understand such concepts as Compensation, Miasmatic taint, Obstacles to cure - these things really need an ojective observer to determine.

I have practiced homoeopathy for a long time, I can only give you the benefit of that experience. While it is 'possible' that you could stumble upon the similimum for your disease, the chances are very slight. And worse, the wrong remedy can have quite serious consequences.

Again, this is in no way a criticism of you, of your intellect, your intution, even of your self awareness and the journey you have taken to get to where you are. I am always very impressed by the survival techniques people develop just to get to my clinc! But at that point, they need me, they need someone who knows how to manage, support, adapt, to act when necessary and wait when prudent, to set boundaries, to empathize. Someone who can detect the Miasm, who can make a second, third, fourth prescription, who can deal with aggravations or provings, who can follow Direction of cure - probably one of the most vital things necessary for your improvement. Someone who can adapt dosage to the individual's sensitivity and pathology.

There really is a lot involved in managing a single case. That is why you need someone on that journey with you, someone you can trust and rely on.

This reply might come too late....but might help other users in similar dilema. I self prescribed myself with Belladona 30c couple of years ago for similar reasons. Absence of thirst is a very key requirement for Belladona. In my case, a number of other symptoms matched except this one...but I decided to go ahead and take it. A month after, I noticed that the left side of my body turned very weak(powerless) and my thinking abilities took a major hit. I do not 'over think' now...so in a way I am better off, but I have to mentally struggle most of the times to perform normally. So moral of my story 1. Never ever self prescribe homeopathy, especially for mental illness 2. Always go to a well experienced homeopath rather than being the proverbial 'experimental pig' yourself. Chances are that a qualified and experienced has seen hundreds of cases like yours. And no, I am not a homeopathy practicioner advocating for homeopaths.
