Nervous blotchy chest/neck

Hello,

For quite some time whenever I am excited, nervous, happy, angry, being the centre of attention - any type of emotion - results in horrible red blotchy rash that starts on my chest and goes up my neck, sometimes onto my back and shoulders.

Is there anything I can do to help this? Doctors have prescribed betablockers and clonidine which help a bit but don't stop it completely.

It has gotten worse over the years (I'm in my 30s) and it now controls so much of my life - having to wear high neck shirts, etc. I take Magnesium, Omega Fish Oil and B vitamins daily, but they haven't helped.

I am desperate for something and just want to feel 'normal'. Any advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Rhus toxicodendron 200 is a suitable remedy for your problem. It will definitely cure your ailment but this remedy some time may aggravate the pain therefore, you are not to lose your heart at that time.

Thank you Dr. Kumar. I will try that. I was also wondering about Belladonna, glonoiunum and lachesis mutus and sulphur. Someone had suggested to me I try those as well.

kadwa - here are the answers to the questionnaire. Thank you:

1. Describe your main suffering?

Red blotches (not itchy, not raised, not hives) that appear on the chest/neck and sometimes upper arms (like blushing) when nervous, excited, embarrassed (with any strong emotion - possibly adrenaline induced blotches).

2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body?

This is really the only problem I have.

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings?

I develop anxiety because of the blotches. I am very self conscious and embarrassed by the blotches which causes anxiety.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst?

I feel this holds me back. Always having to wear high neck shirts to cover the red blotches. It causes a lot of anxiety.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease?

It started about 10 years ago when I was under a lot of stress. Since then it got worse and worse and now happens several times a day.

6. Which time of the day you are worst?

No particular time.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same?

Heat, hot weather and stress aggravate the suffering. Cool air helps it a bit (but it can still happen).

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)?

Just seems to be caused by heat or any situation where adrenaline is released.

It is better in cold weather

Hi Canagirl,

I am very interested to hear if the Sulphur worked.

I have suffered from exactly the same problem as you and have tried for many years to find the illusive cure. Nothing seems to work, and no one seems to understand the condition. Annoying and embarrassing!

Please let me know!

Hi lima1. So far it hasn't. I did take it the first 2 days as suggested. Am giving the other remedies the full 15 days, but will update at the end. Let me know if you find anything as well!
