knee pain, excessive usage

Hi,

Some 2 months back i started working out after a long gap. after 40 day of workout i suffered a wrist injury and i had to stop exercising. i was doing some weight training and skipping. i had increased my skipping to 1400 a day , 3-4 times a week.
3 days after stopping the exercise, i started getting some sudden pain in both my knees. more in left knee. the pain wanders to different places on the knee as above knee cap, below it, outer knee at different times. and it does not happen simultaneously in both knees.lasts for few seconds only.
at the back of my left me little stiffness is there and tend to walk without putting much weight on my left knee.
no association with movement or rest. pain comes while sitting or walking.
i have been doing some stretching exercises and tried and ruta 30 for a week rhus tox 30 , causticum 30 followed by it.

the frequency of pain in day has reduced to 8-10 times.

please suggest any remedy. i am 29 years, 5feet 6 in, 75 kgs.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
to add to above, i have been using ice pack for few days and it makes the knee feel better.

regarding the stiffness at the back of left knee, i have to exert a little force to completely straighten it , but this causes no pain.

Also, i have flat arches in my feet and inward overpronation.
