echinacea and calcarea carbonica together?

Hi,

i wish to take echinacea (acne) and calcarea carbonica (hair loss - temples)at the same time. Is this OK?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It will be better to take one by one. This should help you know which one really works.

calc carb can work for both your problems if totality of symptoms match.

i generally follow a dosing pattern as follows
take the remedy in 30c potency thrice a day for 1 or 2 days and wait for response for 10 days.

take the remedy in 200c potency thrice a day for 1 day and wait for response for 15 days.

A homeo remedy is suggested on the basis of totality of symptoms and it works as a stimulation to vital force. Cure is effected if the remedy is able to stimulate vital force.
If you are ready to provide all your details a remedy that covers all your symptoms may be worked out for you. For doing that you should copy both the questionnaires from the following thread and paste all questions here (don't paste in the question thread) duly answered. Please note that the effectiveness of remedy selection depends on the quality of details you provide. Please note that mental symptoms are very significant for arriving at a remedy. Please don't think that they are not relevant as your problems are physical.

1. Describe your main sufferings and other related or unrelated sufferings in your own words with exact sensations, locations, modalities and probable causes.

Over the last 5 years I have started to lose my hair. My father is completely bald on the top and back of his head. My hair has receded about 3 inches back on each temple and is beginning to thin on the spot at the back of my head. My hair is thick and wiry everywhere else.

I have had acne and very greasy skin since I was a teenager (I’m currently 31 years old), in my teenage years it was extremely bad and required hospital treatment to dry my oily skin. I have been left with some acne scars, of which the largest runs down my cheek. My acne has lessoned significantly over the last 10 years but I still do get outbreaks (once a month) which result in large spots forming under the skin.

I do sometimes suffer from excessive sweating from my armpits and forehead when under periods of increased stress or due to hot weather and exercise

2. Write an essay on yourself as a person. Describe your nature, likes and dislikes, fears and dreams, your ambition in life, your inner-most desires, your place in society etc.

I am a fun loving person who loves learning and experiencing new things. I am passionate about animal preservation and protection. I enjoy learning about business and science and listening to different music types. Ever since I was at university I had the ambition to be successful in business, my father was a very successful businessman and I guess this has rubbed off on me? I love having a laugh with friends and enjoy socialising and conversation. In recent years I have found that I have become friends with fewer new people as my existing relationships deepen and I find less time to meet and build relationships with new people. I am very conscious of my appearance and I like to look good. I love leading teams and groups of people and I have done this at work and when I have volunteered on animal sanctuaries in Africa. I really enjoy watching sport and playing cricket in particular. I am someone who likes to see progress and get things done and as a result I get frustrated easily and my mind can wander if a topic is not of interest to me.

3. What is your profession? Do you enjoy yourself at work? Is it a profession you have willingly chosen? If not, what would it be as per your choice?

I am a programme manager for a global investment bank. I have been with this company for 3 years and I really enjoy learning the new industry as I have never worked in banking before. I find the organisational politics and working hours both frustrating and draining this role was willingly chosen by myself as I have always had a ambition to be successful in business. Ideally I would like to try and combine my business acumen with the preservation of wild animals but I have been so far unable to achieve this aim

4. What would you like to change in your personality, if at all?

I would like to be more relaxed but much of my tension comes from my passion and focus on a particular activity

5. Please pick out the adjectives which best describe your personality;

Proud, Headstrong, Impulsive, Rigid,

Anything else you would like to add?

Passionate, confident

6. Did you have any bereavement in life? If yes, how has it affected you?

My aunt who I was very close to passed away with cancer a few years ago. This was a great shock as she was such a wonderful and supportive woman

7. Do you often suffer from depression? If so, do you prefer company or solitude during those times?

I would not say I suffer from depression but when I am down I prefer solitude

8. Do you get angry often? If not, do you feel the anger inside at least? What are the things / issues on which you get angry the most?

As mentioned earlier I get frustrated with people and situations if things do not progress as I would have expected or if people a disorganised or lacking focus

9. Did you have any issues regarding your parenting by your guardians?

Only that I felt my parents were very rigid and could have given me more freedom but I have a rebellious personality so I can understand why I needed some boundaries

Please take three doses of Arsenicum Album 200c at a gap of 4 hours for one day (not daily, only one day) and report back after 15 days.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Please refer to the following thread to understand the concept of potentization.
http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/176643/

The potency of remedy does'nt change by repeating it more no of times.
The method of taking a remedy thrice a day is a variation of taking a single dose and it works like that only.

Hi kadwa,

its been 15 days since i took the doses of Arsenicum Album. I really feel better in myself and quite grounded. I am however still getting some spots and I've not noticed any change in my hair loss (other than that the loss has not increased).

Would you recomend me taking another dose of Arsenicum Album?

also, as we discussed in my initial post should i take calc carb for any ongoing acne and hairloss??

thanks for all your help

Hi
Homeo remedy works when it is indicated, otherwise it won't work. Your indicated remedy is Ars. So now when you see that your mental symptoms are worsening on sustained basis you should take the remedy again in the way already explained. Dosing the remedy again without waiting is not good in homeopathy. Similarly it is not good to try another remedy when some remedy has worked.

Please read my posts on the breathing exercises called as Anulom Vilom Pranayam and Kapalbhati Pranayam by following the links given below. Please practise these pranayams regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. You may practise at any other convinient time. The only restriction that you have to follow is not to do these exercises within 4 hours after meals. You can have meals not within 15 minutes after finishing these exercises.

There is one acupressure technique of rubbing finger nails against each other. If this is done for 2-3 minutes everyday, it helps in hair regrowth. The breathing exercises if done regularly will also help.

fantastic, thanks as always for your guidance

Hi, i've been taking Arsenicum Album as and when my mental symptoms worsen and there is a resulting outbreak of acne. I have subseuqently been noticing that my mental well being increases again; my acne outbreaks have lessoned in frequency and i can see little bits of hair re growth and hair thickening (i'm also rubbing my finger nails together on a daily basis for the hair loss). should i continue using Arsenicum Album as and when or adapt the treatment for my acne and hair loss conditions?

thanks as always

superally last decade
In my opinion you should continue with taking Ars Alb whenever you need. It fits best to the totatlity of your symptoms. You may move to Ars Alb 1M. Ars Alb 1M may be repeated only after a gap of 1 month.

kadwa last decade
Ars Alb 1M should be taken only once and not thrice as in case of Ars Alb 200c.

kadwa last decade
Thanks

so that would mean a single 1m Pillule of Ars Alb to be taken no more than once a month?

cheers

superally last decade
Yes. You are right. Just one correction, take 4 pills instead of 1.

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.
